The Great Hall of the Russian Czars palace amplified and echoed the heavy booted foot falls of someone entering the palaces main hall antechambers. The Czar Awsric relaxed slightly with the very familiar and soothing sounds that he recognized and knew all too well. Before long a lone figure could be seen entering the Great Hall of the Russian Czars that few would enter so brazenly and commandingly. The tall thickly built barrel chested man entered the Great Hall as a row of armed guards clicked their bronze shod boot heels together snapping to attention as the man passed them by with out shifting his gaze towards them and strode straight into the Main Chambers of the Great Hall that housed the Czars and their closest advisors only. One of the Guards while straining to remain at attention silently thought he saw the mosaics of the past great Russian soldiers etched into the marble walls actually also snap to attention. It was a respectable thought as if they could have done so they would have for this man. Two guards opened the doors to the chambers swiftly as if they feared the man would walk right through the very doors themselves if they did not open them swiftly enough. With out a word to either of them the man passed into the Inner Sanctum of the Czars Council Advisors and boomed,
'Your Highness, I report that our second squad of Scouts has been dispatched as ordered and that training will commence immediately with the Spearmen who will secure the cities perimeter and protect mother Moscow from her enemies.'
Czar Awsric peered over the scrolls he was reading of all the lands that the Russians first scouting expedition had revealed and motioned for the ex-General Gregory Ivan Rostov to take his seat at the right hand of the Czar himself.
Once seated Peter Petrovovich the Minister of Foreign affairs stated, 'Really General', everyone always refered to Gregory Ivan Rostov as General even though that was years ago in his youth for now the still physically impressive and imposing figure of a man was the Czars Chief Military Advisor.
Peter Petrovovich continued, 'That is fantastic news General Rostov, the first scouting parties encounter with the natives at the end of the river proved that not only were they peaceful but so impressed by the scouting party that they left their homes and decided to join us in founding our first new city. They are moving to the site that the Czar himself has selected as we speak and should arrive there soon.'....
Well maybe not just yet, but the palace will look that way eventually once we get out of our little cave.
The game had to break for some time but the story is no where near over.
More to come...

Ahh man my email must be down or something. I have been waiting for you to get up all day today. First I conked out then I guess it was your turn. Have you sent me the files from the last one. The last one I got was turn 7 from you and I sent 3650 B.C. back to you.
2/14/04 10:16:27 AM Central Standard Time was last email received here not the game but in general. I didn't get notices from Apoylton about your last post so it might be my email provider having troubles.
In the other thread I suggested putting the files as attachments to the post in the thread so maybe that will work here as well until my email ISP provider gets fixed. If that is indeed the issue? At least that way we can continue. Sorry for any delay this might have cost us.
Let me know if we are on track O.K.?
