I've asked the administration to sort this out, but to no avail. Follow the link in my post in the topped thread about the beta patch location. This leads to an untopped thread with the relevant info. The patch is hosted at CFC.

was that released this week? I thought 1.5 Beta had been around a while.

I may be way off base here, but I have in my calendar that FireAxis are releasing the main patch in the last week of February 2004. I thought it was to be rated as number 2.0, but some I speak with say it will be 1.8

It is this new patch I am searching for

That version has not been released. However, if you don't have 1.15 beta I recommend getting it.

Of course, we should have a topped thread on the current patch, and removal of topped threads that have misleading and outdated info in them.

It's on the way. Check over at CFC for more recent info. I'd install the 1.15 beta patch now because the official patch may take a while. If you are concerned just install another version of Civ3 and patch that.

I believe late February was the last estimate I saw, but it changes quite a bit so I'm not entirely sure.

Interesting how it is taking longer than expected. With the beta patch more than adequate, perhaps they are adding in more than we believe they are.....

Or perhaps they're all just having an extended, late holiday.

Alexman posted a rumour in the AU forum recently that another Beta patch was to be released in the next day or so, numbered 1.18, so this is probably where the confusion has crept in.

Well I checked that out and he said official patch (ie the one that we were expecting around now) and the "1.18?" looks speculative.

No, the patch will definitely arrive, but the "1.18?" looked speculative, as if he wasn't sure about the number.

Firaxis is definitely still working on the patch. They just aren't releasing it to the public at large yet. No need to get upset.

Sorry to harp on this, but isn't 'Poly large enough to hold "an official patch". I believe we can be trusted with such things... Is "the other site" bigger and badder than us? Have we fallen from favor with Firaxis, et al.?

The reason the patch is not hosted here yet is it is a beta version. The official patch will I'm sure be hosted when it arrives.

I looked at some old threads and Jesse said that the official patch would come late febuary at the earliest, so we probably still have some waiting to do

Since I don't need a new patch, I am happy to wait. I treat it like DiabloII or Space Empire IV patches. Every now and then one comes out and they are useful, but I did not need them to make the game playable. It is just a bonus.

1.12 was very necessary for playability. 1.15 was a bonus.
