I thought we had a cease fire? That ship was headed to Conshelf57 to take over that base, where we would be away from CyCOn and able to rebuild in an ocean area. Forgive me if I'm just a little cheesed off at the moment, but if you (CyCon) just wanted us flat out of the game instead of giving a chance to rebuild, why didn't you just say so up front instead of hiding behind a bunch of diplomatic runaround?

PEACE - if you want to disown me after my outburst here, I understand, but this is just about the last straw for me. It hurts to get my hopes up and then have them shot down, ok?

Makahlua, we at CPU were more than willing to have peace with you and the Hive, and thus started peace talks with you. It is the Hive however that thought otherwise by destroying our colony pod in their last turn. So if you want to seek someone to blame, please find out whoever in the Hive decided to destroy our CP. They are fully responsible for our action.
It hurts for us too to get our hopes up and then have them shot down. We are both victims here of the Hive who have repeatedly betrayed and abused us and lied to us for their own personal benefit.

We knew that, Jamski, and still went for this.
The Hive decided to bluff us. Well, we took that bluff and sended right back to you. It is still up to the Hive to continue this war or not. I could easily have ordered to shoot Hive units down as well, think of that. Members of us are doing their very best to avoid an escalation, but it is annoying to continue yelling against a wall of silence.

I know one thing: peace talks with PEACE won't be conducted with the breath of a threatening Hive in our neck. Find your enemy on your own borders instead of half across the planet.

Oh so you were gonna wait until the last minute to send us a PM? Obviously then you didn't expect any reply in time, but it would just have been another "roleplay" trick so you could claim "Oh I sent them a PM with a peace offer, but those CPU murderers still attacked!" while of course you are the agressor here.

Actually it's not a peace offer and I was not intending to wait until the last minute. I wrote it and posted it in Hive's forum waiting for some feedback because of the serverity of the tone. But I didn't receive any feedback and I thought I'd send it out and was looking at the public forum to find Function Impaler's name so that I can click PM and I saw this thread. Sigh I don't even know why am I explainging all these here. I need to quit making trouble for everybody I think.

Unlike PUT and CyCon we of PEACE are not 'in' on all of Hive plans, nor are we privy to the reasons of them destroying a CP. It still remains that the CPU attacked us for no provocation except that of 'getting back at the Hive' for something that we had no part of.

If the CPU wish to destroy the peace loving PEACE they certainly have that power, but should not have by any means considered it apporpriate to break a ceasefire agreement to simply 'get back' at the Hive.

If the CPU wished to 'get back' at the Hive, there are certainly other methods of doing so that wouldn't involve the PEACE in anything.

We of the PEACE request neutrality in this incident and will be responding post-haste to GeoModder's communicaide though due to the fact that not all PEACE members are available for comment it will unfortunately be a preliminary message.

Although I am only an observer, and not an especially disinterested one, it seems to me that the Cybernetic Consciousness could have easily arranged reprisals against the Hive, instead of targetting PEACE forces. It does call into question the very option of a diplomatic solution to conflict and the concept of "detente" held by the leaders of the Consciousness.

Of the leaders of the Consciousness I ask this:
Surely "gunboat diplomacy" would be preferrable to what appears to the PEACE leaders to be an unprovoked and unjustified attack?

Alow me to clarify a bit our position as Maniac put it.

It seems to be incressingly apartent that the Hive is atempting to save the Pirates from elimination at the Hands of Cycon. We have noticed transfers of Credits to the Pirates and exchanges of tecnology between Hive and Pirates, not to mention the Pact between these factions.

Thus we have interprited PEACE to be a quasi-vassel state of the Hive at this point. Thus when the Hive destroyed our unit it broke the CeaseFire we had with PEACE.

Think of this situation as like the Cuban Missle Crisis, PEACE being Cuba a small and weak state that is a satalite of a much larger power (HIve) which is having a spat with another larger power. If one of the SuperPowers attacks the other then it obvious that any ceasefire with a satalite state is null and void.


None the less now that Cycon has destroyed the PEACE Ship we feel secure and would be willing to alow PEACE to exist if we have a warming in our relations with the Hive. If so then PEACE will be alowed to resetle far to the North in the region of Fossil Field Ridge ware they will not infringe on the Cycon sphere of influence. They may even remain an active Hive alie so long as the Hive dose not station forces in their territory. It will be up to the Hive though to deside what PEACE's fate will be. Cycon will negotiate their fate with the Hive as it should be obvious to all that direct negotiations between Cycon and PEACE are rather pointless now.
