hey ming! I almost did post in that thread because using the PC I'm on now only displays about a 3rd of what ming posted. I almost posted before reading the end of it. If you don't want anyone posting in it why not lock the thread?!? It's just asking for spam. Like peoples threads 'please don't respond to this thread'. you should have put the post warning at the top.

I don't usually comment on these things, but it did seem odd to restrict that thread, especially since Ming said he would be bumping the thread. People posting to it acts as bumping and increases the probability that more people will read it.

I understand your POV on the subject MWHC.

But most people don't read the Site Announcements, and a thread is the only way to alert people. If I close the thread after starting it, it's a real pain to unclose it, bump it (to keep it near the top) and then close it again.

And, I will continue this practice whenever an announcement is made.

If people don't take the time to read the entire SINGLE post, WHY THE HELL ARE THEY BOTHERING TO RESPOND! Well, the answer is simple... spam. I did show some sympathy by only restricting them for a day. But I'm getting fed up with all the spam artists who post just to post... They sometimes don't even bother reading the thread, because they are too busy posting. Those types of posts by people is STILL THE NUMBER ONE complaint I get from people in e-mail and ICQ.

OK, I feel better now

thanks for the reply. It did seem odd that you'd make a thread that you didn't want anyone posting into, and not lock it. So unlocking a thread is a big pain? To bad you can't restrict the thread to only moderators posting in it.

Alexander's Horse, why do you pick on Ming so much? Is it your title/where you are from, or that you were Flash Gordon's Horse before you were Alexander's?
