The screenies idea sounds nice... Maybe a little propaganda to go with it....

As for convincing them of a tech-gold deal, we need to make sure we convince them by using arguments of how good it is for them, not on how much less they are putting in than we are. Sell it to them, don't try to guilt-trip them into it.

Lets just appoint Aidun as the ambassador to CFC. If email seems to be the preferred medium of exchange then he should be able to handle that with no problem. As for a chat if Aidun is not available then Togas, myself, WB or anyone else can handle that.

Latest from Cheetah is posted in the FA topped thread.

Basically he is saying he does not think they will be able to take Leo's. He is thinking cut the north south road, attack Cervoice and Zweimeersblick, do some pilliaging, then with draw and head south to RELAND and try and take out some of the new GCA cities. Thinking that GWT/GCA will presume once they withdraw they wont be coming back.

The new CFC ambassador to Apolyton is:

Emperor Napoloen (Sp?)

emperornapoloen@netscape.net

He was in #isdgfamtalks for a while tonight. Informed us that they are 25 turns from Printing Press (1 scientist) and that they are likely going to attack GCA, not GWT.

He is interested in doing research separate from Apolyton, but revealed that they have no libraries. We shouldn't have too much trouble getting them to agree to the current tech sharing scheme.

They have concerns about GWT invading them after Navigation. We are going to have to help them to some degree with their rail network after Steam Power. In the future, I'll ask more about their worker force, etc.

Emperror Napoleon and I have been chatting last evening and we enjoyed it both a lot. We both have interest in politics and history.

I accept the ambassadorship, but I will very likely be away on holiday for little more than two weeks, so I won't be able to do some chatting.

Once the 2 worker pumps are fully up AND I Use the first couple of workers that I already have planned for the cities that I'm putting them into, we can see about getting them a few "slaves".

Now, as for RR's, I DO know, from Vanilla C3, that for you to build RR's in another Civ;s Territory, that they ALSO have to have Coal available (i.e. Steam Power). It should be the same in PTW, but someone else can check that out.

Now, that doesn;t mean that we can't still send some of our Workers over there to help them out, until we get them that tech. I can see us doing some Jungle clearing and other things for them, if that is the case. The only thing that I'll insist on, is 2 things, that we have enough workers to get our own RR's up and running, in quick time AND that they let us know what other cities they plan to place, where and when (especailly, in the Jungle areas). It migt be better, overall, if we just send the workers over there and do the things for them (maybe for a nominal fee....).

That's not the case in PTW. Another team can build rails in your territory even if you don't have steam power or coal. I know from experience.

We cant use our workers to clear jungle within the cultural borders of another civ.

Well, atleast for the moment, they only have 2 of the 17 Jungle tiles within their cultural borders. Although, by the time we got some workers over there, that will likely all be within their border.

But, we can still look at the possibility.., They still have roads to build, especially on Hills and mountains.

I'd rather give them the workers since niether of us would pay for the upkeep of said workers. Hell, why don't we give them workers, and they give us some of theirs now?

I had a short chat with OctavianX of CFC. We basically discussed CFC giving a portion of their land to CGN; the land that surrounds our Silk Colony. CFC's FP is going direct to the east of their Captital. The area in question will be very corrupt for any cities either APO of CFC.

I figure CGN can get a good 6-7 cities packed in that area. CGn will be a samll but viable Civ inthat position. They will be able to contribute a lot of commerce from there; plus it keeps them in the game. If GCA is going to stick around and help out GWT, then we need to do the same to prop ourselves up a bit. Not only will CGN free tech in each era help, but their contribuiton to a sea wall and gold to both CFC and us will help immensely.

OctavianX said he liked the idea and will take it back to his team for discussion.

Exactly. They want us to tell them when to strike and where to strike. Their ship (I hope they have more than just that) is in range.

Suggestions?

I think they should go for Cervoise. It would cut off GCA from GWT and thus any luxuries. It would also help to open up the GCA South for us should we later decide to pay a vistit to Lucky

I disagree.

Go after Flammburg. That's the only shot we have at doing any real damage now. Cervoise is a waste of time. They'll certainly have Workers in the area to repair any damage in short order.

Can they even land next turn? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like they can't get to a coast tile from there.

Anyway, I don't think Flammburg is a very good option right now. They're too far away anyway. Cervoise and/or the GCA area is probably their best option. Do any of the southern GCA/GWT cities have a harbor? If so, forget Cervoise; that won't cut the supply lines for luxes.

Something else?

What do you want the timing of there landing to be assuming our strategy is to get out of site and head north???????

Why are they so close to GCA?

They should go for Flammburg. With us Keeping so many GWT units busy in the west they actually have a shot at taking the city, or at the very least, causing a massive headache for GWT, giving us enough leeway to land our own force.
