Uninspired location (a generic 'facility'), bland weapons, too much jumping, a wafer-thin plot and awful final levels added up to a drab, obstacle course of a game.

Half-life was tremendously fun. Great graphics, and the scripting was often surprising and always interesting. Plus, I loved the level design, because it felt so real.

However, Deus Ex was much, much better. There are very few games that even approach the quality of Deus Ex.

Not only was SMB3 one of the most fun games ever, but it was an utter sensation-the firt videogame ever to make as muh as some of the blockbuster movies of that year! Heck, they had 2 movies about that game (the awful Super Mario Brother's movie, and that one with the kid from the wonder years).

Doom, on the other hand, was nothing more than a sci-fi version of Wolfenstein 3D.

I'm Gepap here. Granted Doom was a milestone because it rocketed FPS to the vanguard of gaming, however SMB3 is one of those rare games that has never been surpassed in its genre. Face it, if you'd release Doom today it'd be crap, while SMB3 would still be as enjoyable as ever.

DOOM was crap! Everybody was just too stupid to notice it. Wolfenstein is still classic. But DOOM lacked Nazis, and the ability to keep you from getting both sick and bored.

Doom is clearly the better of the two, but should fall to half life in the final.
