... Siiiighhh ....

A soft, bearly audible sigh escaped from HongHu's lips. The earthlings are so improbable some times. Perhaps they really deserve the fate they are facing ...

* Snowflake put on her uniform, while reflecting what had happened before her eyes.

How was that possible? Her knowledge about the earth tells her that it is thousands space years from them getting hold of that ability. ... Somebody must have stolen the aging technology from the HongHu Empire ... Who could have known about it? And who has the capability of stealing it?

A clue:

Firstly, you are now in the game. Don't forget to vote. You're not the mafia.

Secondly, by some chance you also get a clue this round.

Your outerspace senses reveal that the killer stole the aging technology from the HongHu Empire.

Its a supposedly second rate movie, shown before the main feature, back in the days when you'd go to the cinema and see more than one film in an evening.

Normally horror/science fiction/fantasy stuff. Think of "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman!", "KungFu Dragon 4", "Plan 9 from Outer Space" or the iconic "Them"

Cheaply made, unknown actors, great fun.

Got spare money?

The is an alternate definition of B-movie.
In the old days, the Catholic Church produced a paper that had movie ratings in them. "B" was actually one of the ratings. If there was any hint of swearing, sexual content, gore, or issues of morality the movie ended up with "B" rating. Catholics in general were not supposed to watch any "B" movie. EVEN ADULTS. Using those standards today would make 99% of every movie released a "B" movie . Family Disney movies are about the only thing that didn't get a "B" rating.

Once the Catholic church stopped using that rating system (many many years ago) the definition of a "B" movie started to evolve into what it is used today, but the origin is from the old Catholic rating system.

The aging thingy (thats its technical term) was stolen from the HongHu Empire? Sounds like whoever stole it needed to use a shuttle to get to the Empire and back. Kassiopeia should probably be asked a few questions.

Ok help me work this out dear earthlings, I got to go back to my empire soon.

Who would want the Navigation Engineer, Head of Security and Chief Engineer dead? Looks like he wants us to forever trapped here in the space. For what? So that he could steal more techs from the HongHu Empire?

Doesn't look like it is the 2nd officer or 3rd officer. You'd think their first target should be the 1st officer.

The earthling representative doesn't seem likely either. Why would he wants to end his old life in the space anyway? Unless of course he wants to steal that rejuvenating technology ...

Has anybody suspected that quiet Aide to Captain Hercules? He does have the chance to get close to all the officers and perhaps this makes him hate the status distance between them and himself?

The other officers don't look too likely either. Since this is a serial killing it is not likely that it is rooted from certain personal conficts between two officers. Unless remote likely the killer is really insane and simply wants the officers bar all to himself.

Can't find motive in the pilot either. What use a pilot has if the ship cannot go anywhere?

The Chaplain could of course finds all officers sinned in some way ...

And the food guy and the scatty bums figure have the best opportunities ...

The secruity guard is of course very suspicious. Late everytime in voting and such ... Very smart technique of getting oneself unsuspected.

Hmmm ...

Well, unfortunate for Frozzy that his availability is reduced. That has tradionally been a red flag for elimination. No reason to change tradition. Since the MAFIA/ALIEN/whatever refuses to take care of it in an orderly fashion, let me start the pile.

One last note on movies. These rating goons still exist. An except from a current website that tells a little of the history.

quote:

The Legion created a rating system as a guide for Catholic filmgoers and the public at large. An “A” rating meant the film was morally unobjectionable; a “B” rating meant that the film was morally objectionable in part; a “C” rating meant that the film was condemned and that Catholics were forbidden to see it. According to Fr. Frank Poncelet, founder of a Catholic anti-TV apostolate, any Catholic who knowingly attended a “C” film would have committed a mortal sin. In his book “Television: Prelude to Chaos”, Fr. Poncelet tells us what it was like in those days:

“Soon the ratings of all movies were printed in virtually every diocesan paper, and it was the practice of all good Catholics to check the Legion of Decency rating before attending a movie. One movie with a ‘C’ rating is extremely important to note here, and which this author recalls very clearly from the list in approximately 1940. ‘Gone With The Wind’ was rated ‘C’, but was receiving great raves in the papers and on previews. A few of us wanted to see ‘Gone With The Wind’ and approached our pastor asking for an exception to the rule. We heard that its rating of ‘C’ was too severe; that others considered it OK to see. His reply was swift and short; in fact, only one word with two letters: ‘NO’. We did not attend the movie, but many others did, and it marked a change in the strict adherence to the Legion’s rating system.”

“Gone With The Wind” was condemned by the Legion in 1940 primarily because it undermined the sanctity of marriage, and because Rhett Butler spoke a single profanity. Today, most Catholics have seen or heard this much before breakfast — if not on television, then on the radio during the morning commute. If ‘Gone With The Wind” was a danger to Catholic faith and morals in 1940, how much more dangerous is 90% of television and film today! Most of our favorite films would not make the grade. Indeed, the six o'clock news would not make the grade.
