Did not know About the 500 post limits for the threads. Interesting?

The plan seems effective as more Russian and Aussie troops make their way towards the Nordiclands. Will play the next turn after checking in on some emails.

After turn 170 sent.

The Russians unload another catapult and another Horsemen into the new northern city yet to be renamed. The other forces need to be rested and heal some before assaulting the other Viking positions. Another settler and Spearman escort are seen leaving the Viking territories fleeing westward and the Russian soldiers have orders to allow them through the lines and to allow them to form their city peacefully. Later the city will become integrated into the larger whole of the northern territories without the need for killing the innocent Nordic settlers that will soon be Russian and Aussie citizens anyways.

Australians celebrate as Med inf destroy advancing Vikings.

Road completed linking the old southern Australia with the new viking territories. Russians also free t ouse this road, just a few bypasses needed to get round new australian citys.

Aussie workers now heading to link new colonies with our friends the russians in the north west.

Changed research finally, will now take longer for next tech breakthru

Three boatloads of Med inf to arrive in north soon, this will finally end the battle for the light house which will open up new exploratio nroutes.

Viking capital will then b enext target as aussies continue their assimilation goals.....

Mass celebrations in Australia as the New King, King Raz V, moves into his new palace, much extensions done as the people pledge their loyalty to him.

In the North the final battle for the Lighthouse is complete and Australia officially gain control. With this new ability the Australian navy is planning an expedition to discover new lands.

Australians send offer of our extra dyes to Russia along with new maps and the City of Molde.

In southern Australia Military buildup is canceled and all citys ordered to put into place growth strategies. New gangs of workers founded to complete the nation wide irrigation scheme.

Road to Russian citys continues in the north to speed up cross country crossings.

The End is near for Vikings, onwards into the world we go.

Once we discover safe passages to other lands we will forward maps to Russians to gain access their too.

After turn 172 sent.

The catapults and horsemen are approaching the city of Stavenger as the Vikings are trying to reinforce the city with a few archers and spearmen. Our Horsemen have blocked their reinforcements in the mountains and hopefully can hold them until the assault succeedes.

Traded maps and Invention to the Aussies as the Russian research seems to be proceedeing faster than expected. Only 11 more turns until Gunpowder and then on to Chemistry and then beyond towards Navigation.

With the Republic and the extra luxuries we share then we should enter into a peaceful age as we explore the oceans in search of the other backwards civilizations.

After turn 173 sent.

Assault is going OK at Stavenger. The Archers broke through and attcked killing 2 Horsemen and wounding 2 others which retreated back towards the catapults to recover. Will have to retreat the catapults until the Horsemen recover and can attack in concert again in a few turns. The Vikings still have not reconnected to the Iron suppy so at least Archers are the best Fott soldiers they have. No match for Russian Horsemen and Aussie Knights and Midieval Infantry.


You have to download the DyP 2.02 for PTW so we can pbem that one. Its awesome.

It's very comlicated and takes some getting used to. Slower start as you do not know Farming and Mining and must research them first.

Must get lucky at start and find some special 3 food tiles or your cities get stuck at 2 pop until you get Domestication when Pigs and Cows show up or Farming when Wheat and Corn show up.

Slower start but much much more to do with alot more techs, very specific. More governments etc.

No just download the scenario and install it. That is just a precautionary for making sure that nothing is wrong with the original if you have an earlier version. Do not want the mixing of the two, just download the full version and install it as a PTW scenario.

I did mine and it is just fine. Playing my first game and it is intense with all the new stuff.

Retreated away from Stavenger for the catapults to remain protected and allow the Horsemen to recover.

Keep forgetting to check if I have Republic or not. Little matter Democracy is within reach across the top of the advances for this era. Should switch after discovering until we find the other powers and maybe stay to get better research.

dont think you have republic, you havent metioned it in any posts..

could get republic in next tech research or as you say head to democracy..

perhpas if we meet a new civ we can trade with them to get republic...

first attacks on viking capital. losses both sides but vikings lose most.

1st fleet sails around north coast. lots of ocean which we cant enter yet.

2nd fleet heads north too.

3rd fleet heads east to circumnavigate the peninsula.

aussie soldiers gather east of last remaining viking citys, preparing for last battles coming within the next few decades.

I am leaning towards waiting for democracy and trying to prepare the cities for the change over in happiness and luxuries when that happens. I will attempt to build all the happiness generators I can until we get to that point including, colloseums, cathedrals, marketplaces, etc..

That is why I say you get the J.S. Bach's Cathedral and I am currently about 18 turns away from the Sistine Chapel. These major happiness wonders should be complete before attempting the switch over to democracy.

With those built and 3 luxuries for each of us of including Furs, Dyes, and Wines that makes for a 1+1+2=4 happy faces from luxuries with marketplaces built. Now add in the Cathedrals at 3 and the Colloseums at 2 and we are each at +9 happy faces per city before the Wonders. Add in the Sistine Chapel for me giving +3 happiness by doubleing the Cathedrals and the J.S. Bach's for you at +2 happiness and we are at +12 and +11 after the wonders are built.

With size 12 max cities we are definately safe with max. science settings under Democracy after the wonders are built and are close enough to switch before they are completed if necessary at +9 each. The cities should support the 3 extra citizens being happy and if not then a single point into the entertainment instead of science should do the trick.

We look good to change to the Democracy once we get their and then research like crazy while searching out the other civilizations.

Speaking of, it appears the Persians and English are double teaming the poor Romans that will soon be gone. The Romans score is around the same levels as the Viings.

6 Turns until Gunpowder. I am thinking the next avenue should be for the Russians to go after the Printing Press and Democracy so we can switch before meeting the other civilizations.

The Aussie's are researching Education and then Music Theory to get J.S. Bachs right? or after Education were you going to go for Astronomy to get Caravels? After capturing the Great Lighthouse ships can travels seas anyways so might be better to get the Music theory first then go for the Navigation. Well the Russians might be able to get the Music Theory after trading with the Aussies so they can go ahead and get Astronomy. Lots of possiblilites with swapping techs like this.
