The Russians hold large tracts of territory that are integral parts of Japan. From the Kuriles, to Sakhalin, up to Kamchatka. These are lands that hold large numbers of Japanese people, but are governed by the dogs in Moscow. The Japanese should get these territories back before any gold is exchanged.

Japan is just cool. Even in ww2, they were cool (except for the atrocities). I'd like to see Japan build up their military again.

Has anyone seen how those kidnap victims were treated when they returned to Japan. Unbelievable that the victims themselves were blamed. I miss the Japan that was more warlike

I say Japan should hold it for safekeeping until a goverment that isn't made of ex KGB agents and corrupt fat cats is made in Russia. In other words, that gold is going to get mighty dusty.

I think that Russia should get the gold back.

As long as they repay the Tsar's debts which the Bolshevik's repudiated.

Of course that debt (with interest) is significantly more than $80bn

Japan should get the Kuriles back, but not Sakhalin. Japan and Russia each grabbed a piece of the island from China. Japan has no legit claim on the place.

Russia has the strongest claim, simply because it is owned by Russia and populated by Russians. Russia and Japan got together and each snatched half the land from China. Later the USSR snatched the rest of the island from Japan.

China is not contesting the island. They have more issues along the Amur.

There is the issue that the Whites represented Russia's legal and internationally recognized government at the time. There for the Whites had full legal right to decide the use of Russian's national assets.

Speaking of state and thieves, have you heard anything re: Florida Senate Bill 2548. Yet another assault on private property and the plight of the little guy. The bill is looking to allow local government opportunity to essentially seize land for purposes of land development i.e. developers who can't aquire land through purchase can request local governement to seize home for the intent of raising tax base.

1. If the people on the island are japanese then would'nt the island be a japanese island. hmn. So why would Russia have to give control of the island and the people back to japan.

2. I wonder if anyone's views here on repatriated the money, people, and land are hypocritical when there views on repatriations for Africa for stolen land, lives, and future.

3. I think the Russians and Japanese to should trade the islands for the gold. It's a win win situation. I doubt if the Russians derive that much income from those islands and it would be a source of pride for the Japanese people. Maybe, they can end that terrible war as well.
