No, I did not see it, and I do not want to. I would also prefer that it never be known, that is my strat that you posted, hence if my strat is known, then I do not have one, you know, sort of like the AI in Civ3. |
I entirely agree with you SC, but whats done is done. All of our stats were there and it was far from ideal. I personnaly did see them, and sent a PM straight away, but I cannot remember what the orders were. It's not an ideal situation, but our GM has apologised and presumably it won't happen again.
Orders sent.

Pretty much. It depends on the results. FE:
code: W Ar Damage HP Left Win Draw
3 9 11 9 100 1 0
Theben 9 11 43 71
Vs 9 11 44 42
4 20 0 0 91 0 0
The Doctor 20 0 29 48
20 0 29 4
6 9 11 0 100 1 0
Chaunk 9 11 0 100
Vs 9 11 15 100
7 15 5 0 100 0 0
Spacius Maximus 15 5 0 100
15 5 0 85
In the battle between the Doctor and myself, we both know that any hit is +9 damage due to the difference in weapons and armor. So obviously I put 0 into power the 1st round, then 34 & 35 the next two. The Doc also didn't hit me the 1st round so I put at least 5 pts. into def then, for a total of 74 pts. That leaves 26 left, and since I didn't put any into power the 1st round, he would likely assume that I put those pts. into attack on the rounds I had heavy power. Likewise he didn't hit me the 1st round, but hit me for 29 on the next two. So I know that 40 pts. in power, and based on past experience (and personal knowledge of my defense) I'd guess that he put 30 pts. into attack and 20 into power in the 2nd and 3rd swings.
In the latter all I can guess is that Chaunk did something to the effect of a block, block, hack, and that he put 11 pts. into power on the 3rd swing. Since Spacius didn't hit, all I can assume is that he put a considerable amount into defense since with his low armor he was only hit once. Prolly a high defence chip, chip, chip or a badly timed hack/block combo.
What I do wonder is that we don't know what our opponents do, espec since we are fighting them. Do they use fanciful fighting styles, or just swing away (high/low attack)? Are they probing defences, or putting all thier strength into a swing (low/high power)? This is common knowledge in the semis/finals, but can anyone give a good reason why we don't know in the round robin (other than it's a lot of work for the GM)?

So do I, however, that time I hid the wrong columns . I guess it's more confusing than I expected having all the column headings which look pretty much the same (W, Ar, At, D, P, Att, Def, Pow, etc. Too many 'A's, or something...).
Do you mind if I post a copy of the revised spreadsheet?

Well, and in-game reason might be that you're all very good at feinting, or perhaps you're being put through so many combats in quick succession that you just lose track of what was involved in any one of them. Also, although you should know what your opponents do, the other players shouldn't know so easily. Another out-of-game reason (besides the workload) is that it means that the round-robin tests different skills from the knockout, which increases the chances of a suprise result in the later rounds, and gives those who came in 3rd/4th place more hope for victory.
Still awaiting orders from Hercules Romani, Theben and the Doctor.
