Well, these rounds were fairly uneventful, and many of the matches could still easily go either way. Theben pulls into the lead, leaving Chaunk in second and the Doctor in third, but all the bouts involving any of the three of them are still largely open questions.

In the only seriously unbalanced fight, Smasher is being smashed quite comprehensively by Hercules Romani.

The Doctor is far from his usual, violent, self against Hercules Romani, and their combat is positively dull.

So, I'm now accepting orders for the second round in each of these fights, and I am most eager to see what occurs .

Here's an interesting tidbit for your psychological analyses: No two of you are using the same format subject lines for your PMs.

Nah. I think you were right before when you said, "balance is the key". Extremes at one end or the other tend to pigeonhole your strategy, while the middle-of-the-road allows varied approaches.

Of course watching how this fight is going I could also well be talking out my ass.

Iterestingly though, in the field we have, 10:10 is a defensive selection. Being in the middle gives the most variation in the fights, so fighting someone 20:0 becomes wildly different from 0:20, whereas sitting an one extreme or the other, the fights don't change so much.

The game atm is nicely balanced though, because both players have the same effective bonuses in every fight. It is currently easier to win with a large weapons bonus though I think.

But large weapons have poor armor, and tend to get thumped more readily.

There was an error (now corrected) in the table above in Theben vs. The Ram (Theben did 16 damage, not 17). If either Theben or the Ram wishes to revise their orders because of this, feel free.

Someone this turn sent in changed orders (besides the two who I said I didn't mind if they did), so I think I should clarify my stance on changing your orders. If I notice the change then I'll incorporate it, but if I don't (probably because it arrives after I think all orders are in) then I won't, and I reserve the right to fail to notice .
