**** you jerk.
Almost everday, gays and lesbians have to live their daily lives with the stress of belonging to a minority group that is still struggling to have their human dignity legitimately recognized. |
Big ****ing deal. I am a white anglo-saxon male heterosexual christian and everyday I have to live with the stress of having my integrity and decency challenged because of my race, religion and sexual orientation.
See, I have just demonstrated that straight guys can whine too. Jerk.

I agree with that. But man, its like having digital cable and 273 channels of "Roots" reruns. After a bit it just gets on the nerves.

Wow, is that like a caned response that you have memorized or would you like to go on record of having thought that one up by yourself?

I concur. However, flaming doesn't do any good. This is why we have these threads. It's about a right to chose, as Tia puts it, or what civil liberty is.
We debate homosexuality a lot, because it transcends all issues of discrimination while we can ignore other facets; race, religion, nationality, social class, etc...
It is a good debate, and if you [Capt. Dizle] continue to be such a flammer about this than please try to ignore the thread instead of giving straight, white, christian men a bad name.

See, you've got your cable and Roots reruns. Gay life/issues are something you encounter...once a day? Twice a day? Flicking through the metaphorical channels and stumbling across it. Meanwhile, we're trapped in the Sony store where all the TV's are perma-glued onto the same channel and the stereos are blasting out the same music. Everyone else is walking around not noticing cause they're humming along. So, sometimes, we have to shout a bit louder and more often to get heard.
The most annoying bit, though, is actually coming across something we like. Perhaps a new CD player or the Institution of Marriage. We think, "yeah, that'll be nice. Perfect even. It'll suit us just fine and hey, everyone else can get it so surely we have equal rights to partake of it too." Then suddenly a big glass cage falls from the sky and it's all Nooo, silly homos. You can't have that. It's not for you. Equal rights? Pfff. You wouldn't know what to do with it, you'd make a mockery of it, you can't even load the CD problem or work the tiny buttons. Meanwhile, while we're getting this lecture, the tour guide is turning a blind eye to the people skull ****ing the twitching corpse of, say, Marriage by getting hitched while drunk and then divorcing thirty seconds later and releasing a song about it. It just gets damn annoying after a while.
Sorry for mixing metaphors.

Japher, I might not agree with you but I appreciate the sincerity of your comments. I'll be more than pleased to shut it down out of respect for you and all the other posters.

This rule won't get overturned by the courts. Schools can require dress codes, and schools can make other tules as they see fit.
