My BF invited me to his prom, and I'm flying back in June just to go to it. We don't care what people say, since the schoolboard can do f*ck all about it (being a public school).

Be nice to get an explanation if I get the axe, would it be for daring to ruffle the feathers of the gay lobby or responding to the uncalled for barbs of the WORLDEST LOUDEST MOUTH, who happens to have a little more point and click power than any sane person would allow?

Like it matters.

I like Capt. Dizle, don't ban him

He's got the Savage in him. The only think I would like to hear from him is how gay rights imposes on his owns.

Dizle, care to explain how gay rights/liberties plays on yours? Or, to be specific, why granting the gays the right to marry will infringe on your rights as a straight god-farring man?

I think I ought to have a right to read an occasional thread without having sexuality issues all over it. That is an imposition on me. I am sorry to disappoint you if you think that I am a gay basher. I could care less. I would like to have marriage between straights and gays separate but ITS NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ME TO HAVE LISTEN TO THIS CRAP ANYMORE.

How was it an imposition on you when you VOLUNTARILY clicked on this thread? It says "gay" in the title, after all.

So you come into a thread armed with an agenda and a chip on your shoulder, and expect us to take you seriously when you say you don't want to hear about it any more?

I don't expect anyone to take me seriously. Nor should you either Boris. Heck, though, we ought to have a limit on gay threads on the front page. Three would be about enough don't you think? I mean, at a certain point is clearly spam. And I don't see why I should be able to come in the thread and say so. It's a Poly tradition.

I agree. Yet, have you noticed that threads on gay topics gets lots of replies? Most of which are not fending of trolls, flamers, and threadjackers. You said your peace, and then MrFun (and the lot of them) trolled back. I have only this to say; If it's a thread on gay rights try not to troll, if it's a thread against gay rights have fun. It is not that we disrespect your opinion, or care not to know where you are coming from, but your out right gay bashing is something that would be more condusive to Park Ave., Cali, or even some of my threads.

If you (Cptn) want to start a thread about gay rights and how ludicrous it is add to the first thread count (which you so miticulously follow), make sure that it has some valid arguable points (so it doesn't get locked; our mods or sticklers), and have a run with it. Unfortunately (kidding) many of our regs our gay, and don't want to be BOTHERED with homobashing, which is what you were doing.

Keep it decent, factual, and sincere, and you will be heard instead of trolled back. We have plenty of homophobes, racists, and sexists here, we just wish to keep it civil.

Full PM-box? Change here!

I have no interest in sports. At any given moment, there's 4-5 active sports threads. Hey, I demand we restrict them to 3, because anything beyond that is just spam. And I'm going to go into those threads and bash sports fans for forcing me to see their threads, thus enraging me over something I [supposedly] don't care about.

Hmm, makes sense, yes indeedy.

Cptn., you really need to learn to address your audience. This is not a bad thing. I understand what you were getting at, but you did it the wrong way. You don't call black ppl "you people" you don't point out that gays are "whiners"... Granted they are only 2% of the US population, but they have plenty of supporters by human rights activists, and that is what concerns me.

I am a friend of gays, but I do not condone much of what they are asking for, but you don't see 'those people' ripping on me. Learn to argue, that's something I suggest to straight white males all the way up to black, jewish, querrs who smoke pot! Know your audience and know how to debate, else you will just come off as a moron. Which, Cptn, you did.... Not that you are, your arguments just weren't condusive to the arena, and the arena here is about the same that you will find in any court or any senate.

And if you don't, where exactly is attending the prom with whoever you want a violation of an established right? The prom itself is discriminatory, in that it's limited to seniors or juniors or some other arbitrary group.

The school's policy is just stupid and picayune, but there's no fundamental right being violated.

Well, virtually everything the state does is discriminatory in at least some way. However, the courts give more credence to certain forms of anti-discriminatory suits than others. For instance, race. And with rulings like on the Texas anti-sodomy law, sexual orientation is becoming an illegitimate form of discrimination.

I am doubtful about black for the dress. Although the white flowers sound like they would lighten it up a bit.

If she is rather grown up for her age and has a particularly good complexion maybe she will carry it off - but I think I'd advise something with some colour.

It is disappointing not to be told what her friend is thinking of wearing.
