Europe = rest of the world? |
Nope - Europe, Canada, China, India and Russia. That would account for a large proportion of the worlds populations, and by their standards, the Democrats would come out as Centrist or Centre-Right. I'm not sure most of Africa would count as having a party system of note, and if they do, I don't know how it stands. Southern America I'm not sure about either, but they could be closer to an American left/right scale. Whether you look at parties in those countries, or use a measure such as the political compass, or suchlike, the Dems would come out as Centre-Right.
When you have a party that advocates a nationalised healthcare, education and public transport system; that wants to raise taxes and welfare; and that is pro-environment; then I'll admit their a Centre-Left or leftist party. The US, by standards in Canada, Europe, Russia, China - most of the world, does not have a centre-left party, except for small third party candidates. There are far more places where the Dems would be considered centrist or centre-right than there are where they would be considered centre-left.

EDIT: Can someone please post the IQ ranges for retarded, stupid, gifted, genius etc for comparison? |
100 is average. In school, in the UK at least, less than 70 is a cause for concern, above 130 is considered gifted. MENSA, which accepts the top 2%, has an entrance of 148. 180 is about 1 in 3.5 million. What you consider the amount for genius to be depends on what you consider a genius to be. Past genius' (Einstein, Darwin, Newton, etc.) have all sorts of IQs, supposidly.

Funny how the same people who discard IQ as meaningless when it comes to race suddenly consider it valid when it supports their own theories.

China isn't leftist. China is just authoritarian, though leaning capitalist. Similarly, does Russia actually have nationalized healthcare, etc? You've also forgotten about countries like Iran and Pakistan, which definately balance out Europe

The nigger comment, meh, that could have been anywhere. It's unfortunate you encountered it here. Darien has bars? I guess it does. I have a good friend who grew up there, so all I think of when I think of Darien is Dan's house.
Dingy? Bah. Some of the crappier parts of the cities, sure, but most of the state is very nice.
Rudeness I don't think I'll argue. Southerners generally think Northerners are rude. So even if we're not rude by Yankee standards, we are probably still rude to you.

It was a jest, but on a more serious note before I moved from North to South, I had to travel to our Corporate HQ a bit and unfortunately that meant a ride into CT. Danbury, Waterbury and Hartford are by no means garden spots.
Being a northerner, I wasn't fazed by the rudeness moreso the general disrepair and high cost of living. Lots of empty post-industrial towns IIRC.
All in all fairly typical of the northeast. I guess I don't see the allure of limitted employment possibilities and high cost of living that I once did.

Yeah, but I grew up in Georgia and had never encounted such flagrant racism in an openly public place.
Dingy: Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, the entire I-95 corridor except the parts near NY. Nice: Stamford, Greenwich.
