It is very wishful thinking that we could find a LZ once we saw what GWT did last turn. GWT will have pulled out all the stops to get any units they could to block any landing by us. The best we could do now is a joint attack on GCA with CFC. Else, we go back home and wait....

Your quite right BF, I saw lots of workers blocking as well.

Well they are a dam good team. Im disappointed but not overly surprised.

I guess the question is now is severly cripling GCA worth it?

Additionally, GWT is now building Sun Tzu's Art of War in Eichenkueste, a size 9 city directly SE of Ruhrpott.

The situation at the start of the turn.

While it's very probably blocked, I think the stack's only landing tile is worth a look. That northern Ansar DID use up all its moves, apparently. I suggest we move Ambitious 8-8 to investigate. It can join the stack in landing if it's clear and we want to try.

Yeah, move Ambitious 8-8 and see. If it's blocked, move the big stack out to sea (out of range of ANY possible fortified GWT Galleys) and keep moving north. We may be able to find a spot north of Wiesental to land at. Send everything else southwards to distract them. If they block us after that, just head home.

Screw that! Let me say it again for those that are apparently having a hard time comprehending what GWT is doing!

We WILL NOT find a LZ in the North!

Not one place!

If we want to do damage with them, we'll have to do so down South in GCA's new digs. That's it. That's our only chance to land these guys. GWT demostrated not only one but two turns prior knowledge of our attempted landing. Please! They have rushed units....what ever it took, to make sure we cannot land up there! Is GWT stupid? Then why the hell do you still think we can find a LZ? The element of surprise is gone.

Go home or go pick on GCA. THAT, my friends, is our only real choice.

You seem to forget CFC, which lands very soon. That will tip GWT's paranoia scales, because then they might suspect other landings... such as one outside of Parthemuende.

GWT only has so many units, and there are a total of 37 possible tiles we can land on up north that are 2 Knight turns away from Ruhrpott. That means to prevent ANY possibility of landing GWT would have to tie up a permanent force of 37 units, ignoring all other theaters of combat.

Got spare money?

Trip: We don't have to move our ships further North in order to keep GWT's forces oocupied in the North. Now that they have seen us, they know we are coming/looking for a LZ. That alone will occupy a lot of units to lock up for each and every tile we are near now.

If we withdraw our ships, out of any possible pre-Navigation view, we can keep GWT guessing and they will have to cover every single tile because they won't know what our approach will be next time. If they see our ships they can make calculations as to just where it would be possible for us to land each and every turn. If we keep them out of sight, they won't know whuch tiles to cover, thus keeping more units occupied in "LZ blocking" duty and thus making for higher odds in a CFC landing/raid.

I'm against showing GWT where any of our ships are. In fact, if you look at Kloreep's pic...if GWT has a Galley forted at 6-6-6 of "The Big Stack" then they will have seen our Big Stack! They know just where we could land! Thus, they know what tiles to cover! Thus we are only tieing up the minimum amount of units we would otherwise be tieing up if they did not know where we were.

Now, I'm telling you guys there won't be a place to land. GWT now has Ansar in the area. Our chance to find an open spot has passed. If you want to go ahead and take a look, then go ahead, but we are wasting a turn doing so.

I think we would be better off withdrawing our Fleet to just outside of any possible sight range of GWT. Then, they won't know if we are sitting just outside our original LZ or we are looking further North or further South. They will have to cover all possibilities. Now, wouldn't that help CFC more?

You all know that BF is a "diamond in the rough" and occassionally his delivery could use a little work.

But lets think about this guys he has a dam good point here.

Just look at what you can see right now. GWT has it perfectly covered. The chances of having an opening within our movement radius is slim to none.

Im beginning to think like BF (I know thats a scary thought ). Let pull back and hope the CFC appearance will induce enough fog of war to give us an opening somewhere.

And the other option is to go south.

Hide the stack, move way up north, wait for CFC to land, keep GWT baited with a few boats down south, then pop up near the northern tip of the peninsula. That's our best shot. Landing and attacking GCA will hardly cause any damage at all - GWT can easily rebuild for them, even if we manage to cause any major hits to them.

I support the Trip's plan

Otherwise our units are completely unuseful. If we don't strike, I recommend to sail home and disband all of them, because I don't beleave GWT planning attacking us before a long, long time (if never it happens).

This game will probably end with a space race : once the railroads are there, it's quite impossible to invade a human civ.

Hell, we can try for a landing sight up north in 5-7 turns, and if there's still no where to land then we can go down and fight GCA. It's not as though GCA's going anywhere, or going to build some 60 unit army in the next dozen turns.

Why not do a Library in AP before Copernicus? We can be generating double science in only 4 turns for the duration of the wonder build.

Makes a lot more sense to me.
