BtW, could we use battle reports (example) at least in the early game ? They add so much fun into the game, you actually get to know what happened to your units between your turns.

but some people prefer battle reports per PM so that others don't know about any ongoing fights and don't have an incentage to reap the weakened cities and units recovering in the field

i'll play my turn in about 5 hours...

Rommel propably meant this and this post in Pandora PBEM thread. There was not so accurate reporting of HP's of units, but that would have taken too long to write up because of the large number of units.

Yes, thats true, in 2-a-day PBEM we 3 small states are in alliance vs. large alexman, so its easier to just post the results in sight than mail/PM. And in Pandora PBEM it didnt matter because my win was quite obivious after that. But usually, yes, PM/mail

It helps that he is agricultural Celts, has river, 2 FP wheat + ivory at his starting location

they were backwards in tech and development. Japanese only donated them Infantry tech few turns before. In that game, i did technologically very well, was 5 techs ahead of Japan, and ~10 tech ahead of Rome Bit different than this game where i drag at 4th position in f11 and advisors tell i'm so backwards and weak
