Now, something very strange happened: i uninstalled some useless software and Sierra stuff, and somehow Civ3 gets deleted I'm 100 % sure i did not uninstall civ, but its still gone.

How in the **** is this possible.

Worst part is, that i did not plan to make any reinstalls, and my friend has my Civ3 and C3C CD's at loan. I use no-cd patches for all possible games, so dont usually need the CD's.

He studies 300 km away from me, and visits here at weekends only (his home town). So - it seems that only option is to wait until next weekend (2.7 or 3.7) for me to get the CD's back. As i certainly wont BUY new Civ3 cd's yet again. (had to buy a new PtW disc when mad dog ate it about half years ago.)

This propably means i have to get a temporary replacement until next weekend Damn i hate that, but seems there is no other way around this.

if you use no-cd patches, you could just as well make yourself a backup copy

for the games consistency sake, i prefer to wait a week, than to go on with a substitute for these ~10 turns.

I still didnt get the CD's. And i still refuse to buy new ones. I'll ask the moron who forgot to bring the CD's if he could mail them to me next week... Lesson learned : never loan anything to anyone living far away.

I was thinking about DL'ing pirate copies from warez sites, but that is against my principles.

Are you willing to wait yet more, or shall i post in the substitute thread ? I doubt anyone would want Portugal who has no horse, iron or ivory resource tho Maybe alexman could use some challenge

On the other hand, someone could take my turn and retire me from the game, as i have no strat resources anyway, i would likely be the first to get eliminated.

What do you guys think ?

I'm busy with alot of other stuff right now, so don't mind waiting in this game.

I wouldn't get too discouraged with your position. Your distant start provides a buffer against any sudden assaults. As for resources, as long as you can keep the other players from exploring all of your territory, you might be able to hide the fact that you are a sitting duck from everyone else- D'oh!
