That's because none of the other angles could see the puck.
Let's face it...it's in the NHL's best interests to have a game 7.
Want to explain to me how it's not wedged? It's clearly between the pads/skates and the ice, and last time I checked goalies cannot levitate, so to me that would constitute being wedged. Further, if he was in the air and the puck was deflected out, it would've come out at a different angle, not a lateral slide...
It was on the ice, it was behind the line, and the refs really can't be faulted for not seeing it, but the NHL makes a lot more money if they get an additional game out of a series.

Right. Jostling for position is now a penalty. There is no way you call Jovo for something that minor in the last few minutes when his team is losing. |
Give me a f*cking break. It was in regulation, not OT, and Jovo violently used his stick to try to push a Calgary defender down right infront of the net, right infront of the ref, not once...not twice...but three times. Of course he has to call that. There's no way he could say he didn't see it, and Calgary would be up in arms over such a blatant penalty not being called right infront of a ref.

Jovo was stupid, and you guys lost. You seem to forget Game 1, where the refs handed it to you on a silver platter.
Plus you're leaving out the convenient fact that you scored on that penalty kill, too.

No thanks to Fraser. They just got too tired killing off that penalty in the beginning of OT.
Hey, at least we didn't suck so much that we completely fell apart in the last 20 seconds allowing Vancouver to tie the game.

Watched every minute with my flatmate.

Calgary outchanced, AND outshot Tampa... so I don't see how Tampa could've outplayed Calgary consistently

They pummelled Calgary so much that the commentator had to explain to fans why the score was tied if they only watched the last half of the second, and the start of the third. Yes, it is true that Calgary outplayed Tampa for about a period, but a period is different from the game.

Beautiful goals on the Powerplay. What game did you watch, Asher?
I found myself cheering for Tampa because of how badly the Calgary PK squad performed. They passed so well, that it was just a matter of time before they scored.
Yes, Calgary had a pretty goal, but they also caught some breaks to tie the game.

Dude...allowing one goal does not constitute sucking. Sucking is what Vancouver did in game 6 -- blowing a 4 goal lead to go into triple overtime.

That was a joke on CBC, making reference to the first period only. Which, as you said, does not constitute a game. His exact words were something like "I feel like I almost have to explain to people just joining us why the game is still tied". And actually, this was made during the second period, where Calgary was walking all over Tampa but not scoring.
To look at a game, you look at the stats:
Calgary shots on goal: 33
Tampa Bay shots on goal: 27
My math is fuzzy, which one of those numbers is higher?
Shouldn't the team that "consistently outplayed" the other team have more shots on goal?
Further, how can a team "consistently outplay" another if it had only 5 shots in the 2nd period, while Calgary had 13 -- and even numbers of shots in the 1st and 3rd.

Beautiful goals? The first one was a centering pass that Kipper accidentally swept with the backside of his stick, knocking it in. That is NOT a beautiful goal...

You're cheering for Tampa because Calgary eliminated Vancouver. It's obvious from your ridiculous posts how biased you are against Calgary.

Wow, does Tampa have a porn star singing the national anthems? Classy.

Yeah, but that still doesn't stop Calgary folding like a cheap tent before the buzzer.
I admit it should not have been so close, but these Canucks seem to like the adrenaline of torturing their fans.

Yup, but that's still evidence that Calgary far from dominated the game.

5 shots ain't much to take home. They both played about the same if one relies upon shots for the hardworking team.

Not always. Depends on the quality of the chances. Anybody can shoot on net from way out on the hope that the shot bounces in.

Shots aren't the only measure of how well a team plays.

After about 2-3 previous chances to score earlier on that penalty.

If they can't bring home the bacon...
I've cheered for Calgary consistently throughout the playoffs, as Canada's team, after the Canucks were eliminated. I cheered for them over Montreal and Toronto. I will be cheering for them tonight.
It doesn't stop me from tearing a strip off them for losing game 6.

Not a good period for the Flames; Iginla hasn't stepped it up and they can't get anything toward the slot area off the forecheck. If they don't stop with the defensive breakdowns, it's going to be 2-0 before long and that'll be all she wrote.
Need to get a goal on this power play and even it up early in the second. They couldn't convert on the PP in game 6 and it cost them; there's no more games to make up for failing to do it tonight.
EDIT: ****. 2-0. It's done. Tampa's playing such air-tight defence that there's no way Calgary's coming back.
****.
