Round 9
The Battle of Smew
Spaced Cowboy struck at last, sending his mighty fleets to plunder the empire of Trokair. Trokair was waiting for him behind the huge artifical moon of Smew and battle was joined.
Spaced Cowboy : (Lasers->Torps->Fighters->Lasers->Fighters->Torps Close in.)
12 Lasertitans, 6 Fightertitans, and 6 Torpedotitans
Trokair : (Lasers->Torpedoes->Fighter->Fighter->Torpedoes->Lasers)
7 Lasertitans, 7 Fightertitans, and 8 Torpedotitans
Trokair's fleet allowed Spaced to close in before opening fire with lasers. This was exactly what Spaced had hoped for, as he lead the way with his own laser-armed Titan-class ships, and he had a round dozen of these behemoths to Trokair's mere seven. Out gunned nearly 2 to 1, Trokair's ships took a close range hammering.
Near equality in fighters and torpedoes forced the laser fire to cease for a moment, and allowed Trokair to exploit a small advantage to retaliate. Seeing his ships taking damage, and his fighters and torpedoes getting slowly slaughtered, Spaced calmly ordered his laser batteries to fire again, this time at even closer range.
Spaced's lasers shredded his own fighters and Trokair's fighters alike, before concentrating their fire one at a time upon the Titans of the defending fleet. At that range Spaced's total disregard for his own pilots carried the battle. Trokair himself was killed as his flagship exploded, and his fleet was soon wiped from existance for ever. Spaced's marine troops began their landing operations, and his empire was expanded at the cost of another would-be Overlord's life.

Trokair takes 375 Hits and loses his entire fleet and all his bases. Trokair is eliminated.
Everyone else was building away happily.
