	Forum/game moderator: Nominations Inflate your Upload Space

As discussed, we need to elect a forum moderator, and to have one elected we need some nominees. You can nominate yourself but remember the old adage: he who wants to be moderator is not suitable for the job.

I think 24-48 hours would be a good timeframe. (I certainly hope we won't have to make a poll on the time limit. ) And we always have the possibility of a write-in in the actual poll, of course.

Edit: One thing's a bit unclear to me. Is the forum moderator the same as the game moderator? I'm going under the assumption that they are the same person, and the CMN is someone else.

AFAIK forum moderator refers to the "God" job that Googlie and Tassadar did in the current ACDG.

If they nominated themselves, the yes, we should force them to leave. They should though about that before joining/nominating.

I'd love to do it. I don't have much time until the 25th June (exams) but after that, I have much time and would love to get back involved, plus I'd *much* rather it was as a mod than as a player in a team.

As for experience, those who know L'Event will know I'm an admin there. Admittedly, I can't mod an SMAC/X scenario, but for modship, that doesn't seem much of a problem.

Could start the poll in a few hours, after all in this case we don't actually need people to be present since anyone can nominate anyone... in any case, how long do these "important" polls usually last? Is it the old 48 hours we had when I played the last time? Oh and a description of the job would be appropriate in the OP as well.

1) that Morgan has (without me) 20 players already

and

2) that Morgan doesn't appear to be proceeding along the lines that first attracted me to it

and

3) that it's highly unlikely that a fifth faction - a Morgan clone (where I could, with a few others, put my ideas into effect) - would be approved by this group

We don't have a CMN yet?! I thought someone (Darsnan? Edit: Buster?) agreed to do that. I guess we could always make him the God as well and have a simple moderator. Hmm. This needs to be sorted out before we elect anyone, if we don't even know what the elected's going to be doing in the first place.

As far as I see it, there are three jobs:

- moderator, does the simple locking and moving stuff Method mentioned.
- God, the Tassadaresque arbiter.
- CMN, controls the technical aspect of the game, sets it up, etc.

Buster is a CMN, or at least he sets the game up. Now, are we going to elect;

1) a co-CMN, a God and a moderator all rolled into one
2) a moderator, and make Buster a God and the CMN
3) a God and a moderator and keep Buster as sole CMN

Thing is, we have nominees who have been nominated to any of these three but not all of them.

I'm sorry, but I'm a bit confused having not followed everything here for the past few months.

I think buster's agreed to create the map for the game. However I'm unclear if he said anything about managing the game. The moderator we are talking here I understand is more of the guy who tops and locks threads and such, which I think Drogue and Method and Oct can do pretty good. But if buster does not feel too much burdened to do all of those then it's perhaps even better since it makes it simpler. He may need somebody to assist him when he is away in a short period or something like that happens, so perhaps Googlie would be good in that capacity because he is more of a CMN type of guy anyway.
