Space, You think you're special huh? no you're not. I mean, yeah congrats on being sober all this time, however little alcohol is not bad for your health. Actually it can be even beneficial in some cases.

But, it's a long time without any sinful pleasures of men so that's something. Why would you want someone else to be proud of you, man, you should be proud of yourself and it should be enough. I mean, these modern days, people are abusing their bodies and they are supposed to live in it for their whole lives. Some people have absolutely no respect for their bodies.

But you know.. you don't smoke, drink alcohol, don't do any of that and then you get hit by a bus in the face? Get my point? You need to do what you want to do, if that includes drinking alcohol, then you should do it. But if you want to be sober, then you should be sober and phuck any social pressures if someone cant' appreciate it, they are being selfish bastards and they should die in horrible pain.

I had a horrible dream last night.. I was hurt someway, and this dude comes in with a shot, injecting it to my arm like you know taking hte pain away, like a doctor. Well it hurt like hell and I was wondering how good of a doc this person is when he then takes next shot and tries to inject it to my palm, I'm like what the hell and he misses it and misses it and then I feel the needle between my figners, inside my hand. Nasty! Then I realised it, he's there to drug me up and is evil. I tried to fight but he put a bag over my head and taped my hands behind my back and then started battering me with a baseball bat.

Anyway, the point is, do what you gotta do. But don't fell into the trap of 'I will give myself to the person I marry' you know that's just BS.

For every person who can't handle alcohol and who becomes a problem drinker there are many many more who can handle themselves with moderation. A little bit of alcohol is good for your health while alot damages your health.

Why do you think Frenchmen smoke more then Americans, eat fattier food then Americans, and generally excersize less then Americans but still have lower rates of heart desease then Americans? Could it be their lifestyle? Research says yes and that the moderate amounts of wine the French drink on a regular basis has much to do with it.

Nail, head and stuff, Oerdin. Space, I wouldn't worry about it too much, since you're 17. As a great philosopher once said, there's a time and place for everything... it's called college. Kept in moderation, no substance is really a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Gibsie, correct. I would recommend Space to go through a rigorous training regiment, with a daily schedule and goal to be the ironman in college. 'ALL YOUR DRINKS ARE BELONG TO US!'. You know, good times.

Somethings are so toxic they should be avoided no matter what. Luckily, alcohol is not one of them. I'd even say smoking in small amounts isn't to bad but since smoking is so addictive it's probably better just to avoid it all together.

I like to smoke cigars and hooka pipes and for three of the last four months I used to did. One month ago I decided that chewing tabacco was disgusting and I gave it up. So far no relapse and no real cravings. I admite I only did it for a short time so that might explain it. People who've smoked/dipped for a longer period would no doubt have more trouble.

Yeah smoking isn't TOO bad if you just don't do it for years.. longues can recover pretty good in time as long as you don't keep abusing them too long.

I think this is a forgone conclusion. The only way to avoid this is to go to a strictly religious school or to not go to college.

Then I woke up 4 hours later to drive 1.5hrs from my friend's apartment in downtown Toronto to my work in the suburbs, in rushhour traffic. Teh sux0r.

Oerdin, I don't know the religious schools man.. I saw this documentary about Amish kids... I learned that when they reach certain age, they can dress like they want for a while, party like animals and have cars and they can then decide if they want to be Amish for life or give it up. They partied with other Amish kids let me tell you those were some wild parties, I'm not talking about alcohol, I'm talking about drugs, hard drugs and a lot.

Few of the kids got into huge troubles with getting drugs and not being able to pay at the end and cops and all that. It's like Catholic girls, they're the nastiest when it comes down to it.

I met a couple of American college-goers (in person, not on the intarweb) in the last few weeks, and both told me that they never drunk a drop of alcohol at college in case they got chucked out. Does that really happen in America?

...although one of the Americans drunk a huge piece of bling out of a glass of champagne one night whilst his friends back in the states did the same thing. Presumably that doesn't count.

Drinking is great. So is smoking. So is the other evil "king".

At my college you could get thrown out of the religious dorm for: (a) being drunk; (b) being stoned; (c) having a member of the opposite sex in your room with the door closed; or (d) having wild noisy animal sex.

I know this is true because a friend of my brother's answered "all of the above" and he got the boot.

I thought I was the only one...
Ok I have tasted beer and a few drinks, but nothing I would recommend, because it tasted like... let's just say it didn't actually taste good...and I didn't feel any better by it...
...btw, I'm 23

Haven't smoked anything ever... I get sick just standing next to someone who smokes

Actually, that was a bit misleading.

What actually happened is that he woke up in his bed to find empty cans, a roach and a naked female sharing his bed. Other residents filled him in on the rest.

If you ever start drinking, you should drink simply becuase you like the taste of the drink, NOT in order to get drugged up by the alcohol.
