it's disgusting and certain sign of social pathology how some cultures promote drugs as being something "cool".
apart from that basically everyone can do what he wants as long as he doesnt hurt anyone else.
dont forget that it is a small minority that does drugs. most youngsters dont.

Okay, so there is this planet billions and billions of lightyears away from Earth and on this planet is a plant, and this plant grows a fruit that is healthy if you eat it in moderation, but over eating it could hurt you.
But, since you are never going to reach that planet, you will never eat it. So have you missed out?
Starting to get the drift of my point?
I have been accidently drunk once myself. I went to a young people's party, which I never do and should never have done, I never intended to drink any alcohol, but the drink that I was drinking (fruit punch) had alcohol in it and so I slowly got drunk. That night, I sobered up; when I reached home I realised how pointless and pathetic that was.
Some people drink to forget but I ask, is life worth forgetting?

another 2CI casaulty?
whaleboy, not bad work but you should see some of the monsters that my mates can roll, we're talking over 1ft long, the sort of thing that wouldn't look out of place in a snoop dogg video. spent the last two days getting stoned, some geezer came over my house on wednesday evening and started rolling up, i thouhgt it was rude to let him smoke on his own so i had a chuff with him, he crashed on the sofa, he woke up about 2ish yesterday and started rolling up again. i kicked him out about 7 so i could go and watch the england game down the pub, had a couple of pints, talked to a few people, walked home very gutted, went to bed.
apart from the result last night a good couple of days.

Pleasing yourself is a very important part of being an adult. How it ties in with your ethics and stuff complicates things... but if you can't live with yourself you are in deep creek.

Moderate amounts of alcohol can prolong life expectancy. It's the huge regular doses that cause problems.
Some people can take or leave alcohol. Others have to have it.

It gets you drunk.
Seriously, it's a depressant. It depresses most often.

How does it change your thought process? |
In all sorts of ways, depending on how much and how long you've had to digest it...
...for instance, one of the most common effects is lack of inhibition. You might have been brought up polite, but add a couple of drinks to the mix and all those "thou shalt's" get very fuzzy.
However, don't think that the effects are simple to calculate. For instance, depression of reflexes... you might feel like you can handle driving a car, but in reality you should NEVER operate machinery while under the influence. You're just asking for trouble.
OCCASIONALLY Having a few drinks with people you like is OK. It's when you have to drink to feel normal that you have a problem.

Perhaps I should continue my life squeaky clean, what do you guys think? |
If you never smoke, you'll live longer. I'm a smoker by the way. If you must try a cannabis hit, then eat it rather than smoke (though I suspect it'll knock you over if you've never got drunk). These sorts of things are the least harmful in the short term- but be aware, they do cause damage.
If you snort, expect damage to the soft tissues of your nose at the very least. I've got the burn scars and they're not something to be proud of. People I know who snorted are now dead. Think about that.
NEVER, NEVER inject - except for medical reasons. That's one I've personally been able to keep.

space - i'm actually somewhat proud of you.
I takes a strong will and self-assurance.
I did not touch alcohol until I over 17 and a half and then slwoly started drinking.
There was a time when I drank more heavily, but as of recently I have little chances to do so. For near a year I have only been beer drinking.
I miss that time somewhat, but more due to the people i've spent it with, than the drinks.
I think that if you ever plan to drink, you shoudl slowl start to build resistance.
BUT: Always drink with friends - only those you can rely on.
Start slow. don't go rushing in, because alcohol tends to kcreep on you and you when you stop because you're feeling bad - it's too late! You still haven't started experiencing the last 2 shots!
I am an extremely self aware person, and when I had a gf, I was constantly panicking in my head, what am I doing and why and over-analyzing everything.
For the first month or two, I always had to drink up a bit, to depress the damn thing. Later I got over it and felt confident enough with my gf.
And remember- as a guy that puked last night, I'm telling you - it's always better to under-do-it than over-do-it.
Cause you're gonna make bad decisions, get hurt and so on.
