Bah, the gravity bong has been surpassed by the reverse shotgun: take a dry bong, milk an entire bowl into the chamber so the whole bloody thing is solid white, clear your lungs so there is nothing in them, place your mouth over the top hole and have someone else blow as hard as they can through the piece-hole (at the bottom). You'll cough more than you ever thought possible, but you'll be higher than Jesus in about point-four seconds.
But, then, I don't smoke pot anymore, except on road trips or at jamband/acid-jazz concerts. Thankfully, I'm driving from Los Angeles to Coventry, VT in August to see the last two Phish shows ever, so that kills two birds with one stone.
As for being sober at 17, good job. I was, too. It was about then that I had my first shot of cheap vodka and my first cigarette. You'll probably want to experiment, so just watch yourself when you do.
Smoke one cigarette, ever, but not when you're drunk. Do not ever smoke another again -- trust me, I quit three weeks ago after nearly four years of smoking and it is NOT FUN.
If you do end your sobriety, don't make insobriety regular. Go out for drinks, but not every Saturday. Smoke pot a few times, but not every day, every week, or even every month.

Stoners now days. 
. They're kind of a chick drink but they're still good. The best one I had used Gadiva chocolate liquor and Stoly Vinilla vodka.
Chill, shake, pour through strainer. If you make the flavoured vodka/liqueur yourself, extra marks
