Oh. I read that already.
Although, I've read his SMAC guide; I never had the occaision of actually interacting with this Vel guy.
Closest I came, was years ago. I was invited to replace someone in a game that was forming off the boards. Vel and Ogie were going to be in it. I was greatly honored at the time (cause I was a non-entity in the established elite players community), and jumped at the opportunity. But it never got off the ground. IIRC Vel got sick at the time, and it never got going again.
