ACK!
It didn't have to be Harry, either!
A pox on thee!
EDIT: I mean, it's not really a surprise, but it didn't have to be that way. It certainly didn't have to end up with Harry taking up his father's mantle. (Of course, maybe it does have to be that way; like I said, I don't know the comics.) I'll see the movie anyway, but that is a bit disappointing... I rather liked him.

I've actually tried to avoid them, unsuccessfully. It's still pretty vague in the trailer; I know he hires Doc Ock to find Spiderman, but it doesn't necessarily mean he has to turn full-bore eeeeeeeevil.

Harry's bowtie at MJ's wedding is dark green - is that not obvious enough?

exactly. since you brought it up, I will add that I was hoping he would fly in and wreck the wedding or something. give it a "stay tuned to next time" ending, or even throw in some "I'll get you spiderman schlock.

I heard on Tuesday that Keanu Reeves is playing John Constantine in the film of 'Hellblazer'- which has magically relocated to the United States too.
Alan Moore apparently wants nothing to do with it.
March 4th, 2004 - Alan Moore Disowns Constantine ?
After reviewing the script and casting of HELLBLAZER, Comic Kingpin Alan Moore has done the unthinkable. He's washed his hand of the entire debacle. That's right-he's instructed DC to NOT credit him as the creator of the character. And putting his money where his mouth is, he has instructed that the royalties that he was splitting with his co-creators goes EXCLUSIVELY to the artists, Veitch and Bissette.
Taken from AICN
February 21st, 2004 - Director Francis Lawrence on Constantine
"Ah, interesting question. Well, I think you start to take...what I think first attracted me to this project was just the character himself - not the fact that he was English, not the fact that he had blonde hair and not the fact that he wore an olive-colored trench coat. It was sort of what made him who he was. And I think we've maintained that."
- Francis Lawrence on the decision to forego John Constantine's English nationality in favour of making him American."
I look forward to the director's retread of Sherlock Holmes as a Kalahari bushwoman in Botswana, played by Kim Basinger.

Yeah - I was ready for something like that too!
My only complaint is the same as a reviewer on /. - Peter Parker is supposed to give smart-alec comebacks/comments all the time. There was maybe two in the whole movie, and weak ones at that.
While I think the director has done a great job of character development, there's not much more to explore for the main characters. This is why I think the third movie might have time for two villians - Harry (Green Goblin) and Dr. Connors (The Lizard).

Fricken amazing movie. Holy freaken ****.
What's with all the Spidey haters though? Jeeze, it has no basis in reality. This movie works on so many levels.
I invited a bunch of friends to go out for dinner and a movie on Saturday for my birthday and most of them said they had no interest in seeing Spider-Man 2. What is with all this anti-spider-man? The movie is darn good.
***spoilers***
There is even some deep symbolism in it too. Anyone catch the Christ links on the train? When he is stopping the train its like the crucifixtion, and then the crowd is passing him down, all spread out like Jesus or something. He even had a pierced side. For a moment there he was "dead" and then he rose again. He sacrificed for the good of all of us.
It all comes together, see.
Who was that skinny chick from across the hall? She really had no point in being there. I sure hope that's not supposed to be Gwen or anything. Plus the ending! Yay!!!
I'm a dork, hehe. Spider-man rules!!
As for Harry and GG2, eh... I mean it has to happen, but so soon? We just had green goblin, there are so many good villians out there, I'd really hate for them to waste another movie on him. Maybe Harry will drop out of sight for SM3, and then emerge in SM4. That'd be ok. But right away? Ugh.
Btw, Kraven
Also, while not an epic enemy like Green Goblin or Dr. Octopus, I've always like Sandman. I don't even know how they could do him appropriately, but I'd love to see him.
But wow, such a good movie. All you haters need to see it. You might change your mind.
