Ok, to get a sense of map size, I loaded up a standard map game I played. It had a goodly amount of water on it, and there were 103 total cities, without room for anymore.
Loading up the last HOTW4 save, I counted 206 cities, with room for a few more. So I don't think a huge map is good, but it looks like standard may be too small. But I find managing cities and large empires more tedious in Civ3 than Civ2. Especially because of the crippling corruption. Large empires are a ridiculous burden i've seen. In the few games I've played, I've actually moved to playing on small random maps, cause standard is too much crap to worry about. *shrug*
But we could do a large size map. What are the dimensions of that?
