	Homosexuals and Fascism (article from A&L) Increase the size of your Attachments

THIS IS NOT A TROLL THREAD AIMED AT FEZ OR ANYONE ELSE!!!! NOR IS IT SAYING THAT GAYS=NAZIS OR NAZIS=GAYS!!!! NOR IS IT ENDORSING ANY FORM OF HOMOPHOBIA!!!

I just saw this article linked on A&L and I thought it was fascinating. I had no idea that so many prominent fascists were gay, and I am astonished that any gay people would have anything to do with fascism, given the intense homophobia of the radical right. Despite what Hari says, I'm still confused about the whole phenomenon.

I remember one time showing a friend how to do web searches. Off the cuff, I entered "gay Nazis acid" and was amazed at the number of hits.

My friend wasn't impressed though.

Yeah it's quite strange phenomenom. Even the founder of fascism before Mussolini took over, was gay.

Even personally, after all I was a fascist, and I turned out to be gay. Fez was one, now he's moderated to a Republican.

I've moderated to a libertarian fascist (which is a theory I'm still exploring, but has extremely powerful potential).

I dunno what it is... I can't explain it either...

I know it sounds like a contradiction, but I'm taking the strengths from fascism (admittedly there are), and merging them with the strengths of libertarianism.

I've got it broken down quite simply, public versus private rights.

Actually fascism is probably more of a question of power, as a result of lack of power during ones upbringing, a common by-product of discrimination, oppression etc, and you're not doing anything to detract from the idea that you're gay

Wow. Great article, Ag. This really puts into perspective the attempts at circumventing the democratic process and forcing unwelcome social change onto the populace at large by American gays...

How so. I'm not disputing that there are gay fascists or gay fundies. I'm just wondering how it's possible for someone to reconcile them without suffering from some sort of mental illness.

You of all people should be aware of ones philosophy as a reflection of ones psychological state...

Fascism isn't merely nazism as in 1933-45. I believe fascism is that which occurs when nationalists get power, and some peoples nations and enemies differ from others. You could be a Jewish fascist who hates Palestinians or a gay fascist that hates Jews.
