This is a good point! After an unannounced 7-10 day absence we should (at least temporarily) choose a new UN Delegate.

No, it's not required, it's just a good idea. It gives the region a (slightly) bigger voice at the UN, and allows for the ejection of disruptive nations and such.

Read the whole thread. The region was killed by ceroomaster or somebody using his account by booting everybody out.

Stoned Smurfs didn't have the power to do this.

Excuse me while I interject. I think I might be able to shed some light. (I hope)

My main NS nation is The Autocratic Power of Thesh, currently residing in Nasicournia. I'm a high-ranking government advisor in Nasicournia, and an official of the ADN Intelligence Corp.

The ADN (Alliance Defense Network) is an allied group of regions acting for the protection and defense of each other. You may have heard of the group during the Francos Spain/New Pacific Order --> the Pacific, fight late last year. Recently we have been working with the North Pacific in the defense of their region from NPO sanctioned delegates UPS Rail and Great Blight to keep it in the hands of natives.

I have made a demand to the ADN Senate for an explanation of what happened to the region. However I am certain that the answer will be that it was NOT an ADN sanctioned action, but from the hands of the NPO, Ireland or USSR groups. They have been trying to discredit the ADN for a long time now.

Moving nations into a region in order to take over the UN delegate position and gain control is one thing. Hacking the UN delegate's nation is quite another.

ceroomaster has been a member here at apolyton.net since August 2002, has posted in many on-topic forums, and has been posting in the NationStates forum for well over a year. While it is not impossible, that seems an unlikely period of time for a spy to lurk around.

Both Ceroo and San Antonio Bay have ceased to exist.

With only 6 votes, Centralis (GeneralTacticus) could be deposed by 8 invaders. We should look at increasing the number of delegate endorsements as a way of further protecting out region.

Okay, I've got a reply from the ADN.

This was not a sanctioned action by the ADN, nor was it done by any ADN member regions.

CrazyGirl of the Rejected Realms Army (was in the Pacific till Francos Spain banned her) reported it to the mods as the griefing was occuring. Together with your reports to the mods they acted, thus the region was reinstated to it's pre-griefing state.

The ADN has no idea who did this, and couldn't act because the hacking was directly through the UN Delegate. In ordinary invasions, the ADN moves UN-nations in to endorse a native of the region and leave when the threat is over. That's the purpose of the ADN.

That's all I can find out at this point, but one definite thing is, it wasn't the ADN that did this.
