I think it's safe to post again...
Well, you're out of Archers, but Hoplites, Horsemen and Swordsmen are better anyways.

And that last statement is true. Weight of numbers is all that I have now.

What happens if I somehow manage to get a stalemate out of this war, and find out that you are past Gunpowder?

Don't worry, I will not drop the game unless circumstances force me to. What I meant was that the game will have run past it's usefulness.

I will be absent around that time, too. This means we need to play a impressive number of turns before Friday!

hmm, is it acceptable to release the saves (all of them) in a zip file when this game is over? And if so, would you do the same?

Yup, I've kept all the saves. I've even kept a log of all my moves, although it gets a lot less detailed at around turn 50 or so.

posted.
I have a rther important question that I will need answered before the next turn:
Are we allowed to attack AI cities? If not, then I think that we may not have a problem finishing this game before the end of the month. If we are, then my GA powered archers can have some fun...

Well, as I recall we agreed on the "no attacking AI cities" rule a couple of turns into the game. If the claims of your impending demise are true, changing the rule will only serve to prolong the game a little bit.
Or do you think attacking AI cities will allow you to turn the game around?

I am fine doing the rapid fire session now, and tomorrow will probably be ok as well.
I'll put this simply. I will not be able to attack you if I can't attack the AI cities. The will not be able to overrun me really soon, but when they get MI, that will change. If I can't attack them, then this will be interesting, but only for city placement and defensive strats against the AI, not sometyhing which this course was intended for.

I should be over to help the AIs in a few.
You say that defending against the AIs is not the purpose of the course. Technically I agree, but realistically the scenario is all about manipulating the AIs. I imagine that almost no other pairs of players are fighting each other directly in their respective games.

The AI is not "Knocking" on my door;
they have already bulldozed through 20% of my cities and terrain improvements, and most of my counter attacking army, and knicked all but one of my resources...
You see the point? I am trying to get an empire that is not based solely on desert. I've been there, done that, go ask alexman about it. it is not fun without allies.
