Also we can all translate every common english phrase of French origin into English, to tease the mods, a la (in the style of) my sentence above. that could be boocoo (loads of) fun. |
I think that the key to learning is having fun while doing it. And learning with people that you know. I'm afraid having someone translating something someone else has written will be a drag as well.
In my opinion the ideal way would be to have a free flow of french. We have fun, we make mistakes, we correct them by reading each other's posts etc
We practice in a fun effortless way with people we know.
That way little by little and without it becoming a drag we would ameliorate our french. But since it's against forum's rules...
Still if someone would like to take on that task of translating what another one wrote... but I doubt it, or I doubt it will last.

For those of you who are wondering, you can have the french accents on your keyboards by adding french in Control Panel - Language and regional options (or keyboard IIRC, depending on your version of WinXP) You can then switch between French and English layout with Left Shift + Alt. I have to write a lot of emails in both french and english and that's what i use.
It does take some getting used to though.
