	AU 601: Theseus' Greek (duh) DAR 1 Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I find this whole structure very intriguing... I am DYING to see the other Greek DARs!!

So, since I'm late to the party, I'm not going to bother with screenies unless there is something particular to my game.

Here we go:

I settled on the start, and sent the Worker 6 to irrigate the cows. I'm not sure if everyone know this, but on your first turn with a built town, you have to F6 to select a tech to research... otherwise you lose one turn. I did so, selecting Writing as only two of the civs have Alphabet (one being Greece, of course!), and notched up to 100%. Building a Warrior for exploration.

I am proud to report that Athens is ALREADY ahead of Rome on the F11 screen!

T - One option is to cut the jungle on the banana tile so he could get to +5 food, but the problem with that is the number of worker turns required to cut that jungle.

+4 food isn't as flashy, but can be used pretty well. You can go with +2 food (using forest to boost shields) for a turn in each growth cycle, so you go +2, +4, +4 (growth), and repeat. With the extra shields you can punch out a hoplite here and there.

Err, the banana 99 of the spot your settler starts. You said you settled right there. So the banana should be due north (8) of your worker right now.

It is hard to say as we cannot see out very far. If you want to use those rivers for the next city that is always good.

In an MP game, I suspect a tight placement is best as you may not have time to grow large. In that case dropping on the spice is not bad. You get that lux right off and clear a jungler tile.

Nathan and I have been in a good groove tonight, after the banana idiocy on my part... I've been doing fine, I think, albeit without Pottery (never thought I'd feel the pain of not having that tech right off the bat). I've been way unlucky on huts... 3 popped, and thus 9 barbs. REXing at 3-tile, although the river will screw up my movement.

Pretty psyched about luxes... 3 in the immediate area. Jungle and marshes though are a bummer.

Semi-crap terrain. REXing hard.

I'm glad you found your bananas without my intervention. Since the games start from saves and not from scenarios, and the combination Emperor/AU-mod is used by other pairs, it would have been a complete mystery to me, how this could happen.
