It is indeed the problem. Casting Continual Flame on a weapon increases its level by 1. Post on the forum or email one of the admins and 'twill be fixed.

This happens about once a month. Used to be once a week, untill the NotD got about

Finally visited Dwar Proper and the Formian Hive today. Some VERY nice stuff in both places Granted, Reidmar is about a half-million gold lighter now, but it was worth it.

So... having visited the Hive and Dwar, Reidmar's list of "places I should visit and clear out" is down to:

--The crypts in Gnoma (visited the bottom level, but not cleared)
--Dr. Crank's Island (visited, and I've been beaten rather soundly many times there)
--Wrecker's Point (visited, haven't beaten the boss yet)
--Lizard Mound (and for this one, I'm damn sure I'll need some help )

Out of curiosity, Jamski, what's being planned for the next addition?

Wrecker's Point boss is easy. I go there when I want an esteem boost. (No, I go to Zappy for that. . Seriously, I've never had trouble there until higher levels when I get swarmed by zombies.

Cranks is no problem for a stealthy character to move around in. Security be damned. Of course this means I can't kill anyone to get their cool weapons.

Sorry to keep rattling on about the OC, but I don't have Folderol-enabling broadband, and if I did then Doc would have to find some more codes, which would not be a good thing.
So anyway.....

North and South of Port Llast are done, and so I've come eastwards. I've been having great fun with ogres in the troll caves because I can kill three in a row with two successful cleaves and that amuses me no end. I'd also like to say that I'm very glad I took my single level in sorceror rather than bard, because it means I can read scrolls in full armour and use some rather wonderful spells. In the archeologists' camp, there is a rather angry young man just past the dimwit (his mum is cool though ), but he's always practising with the swordfight dummy and I can never get to talk to him. Does anyone know if it is possible, because I'm sure he's a quest blokey, and not just some random punter - he's got a name after all!

There's actually a queue of little updates going in this week, so keep your eyes peeled - not all of them will be flagged up in the journal straight off. Check out the Druid Trials in Hawkmoon - part #1 is online, and Kensai Ryu's little store will open up shortly, then there's a string of vampire-ridden caves, erm... then the next page of the Codex (in about 2 weeks, I guess), then some more woodland, a couple of mini quests, a specialist mage system (perhaps )... and all those little things people keep requesting, of course.

Its out of my hands after I finish making stuff, and over to the current admin on "update duty", but like I just said, Mike confirmed its in, as of tonight (British time) / this morning (California time)

And Doc, I tried talking to the guy before I even went into the caves, and he wouldn't say anything. I don't know what his quest is, so maybe I have finished it now, but we'll see. I'll keep talking to him in the hope that he responds, and then just kill him if he winds me up. Before reloading of course, my paladin would never stab someone for just ignoring her.

Took a look at the kukris tonight. The defence one looks cool (that is if the deflection modifier stacks with other deflection - otherwise it's pretty useless. Can you confirm this Jam).

The others are pretty tame. Call me greedy but I was hoping to find the kukris of doom.

That suXX0rs that Tubbs can't nick all of the tasty stuff from Spike and hide it somewhere funny. Does NWN let you only have one of an item in an MP game then Jam? Pretty crummy if not.

I think that his badgering of Jamski in this thread proves that Spike is only after the roleplaying challenge to be offered at Folderol and not in the slightest bit interested in plunder or spoils.

Can someone please remind me what is required to take a single level of Shadowdancer, because Hide in Plain Sight at the first level is just wrong in all ways and open to all kinds of exploitation.

Hide in Plain Sight sucks if it doesn't work, which it doesn't about half to the time. I've been killed many times by relying on HiPS only to have the enemy see me and attack while standing prone. This with lag means certain death for my character. Is it supposed to work like this? My character has hide and move silently ranks in the 40s, yet even easy monsters can spot her after she hides sometimes.

Shadowdancers need 8 in hide and move silently, I think.
