Wrongo. The economy is growing at quite a good pace (it isn't recovering, as it isn't coming up from any recent recession). The US liberated Iraq (I didn't liberate Iraq, so don't say "you"). The average Iraqi is far better off now then they ever were. Afghanistan is liberated. In Sudan nothing happens? How about the brokering of peace? And in Libya nothing happens? How about the opening of Libya and the complete removal of NBCs?

You have to do better then a crappy reply like that. But I must be going to bed. Learn how to debate please.

You know, if Kerry has his way and guts the Patriot Act as proposed (fat chance of course), we would be far less able to prevent another attack. Dick Cheney is correct in his analysis.

You can't take measurements in front of a house.

Do arabs in your neighborhood all wear beards and turbans and salwar kameez or jubba? Or do you just see greasy looking brown people and decide "let's get the sand niggers!"

Unless you have a damn good reason more than three men making a sketch, if you draw a weapon on three people, let alone "shoot them if they do anything stupid" you deservedly would get your ass locked up. Otherwise, every would-be cowboy would be popping every brown person who might look like an arab.

Bullshit. The intelligence failures that led to 9/11 do not in any case have any basis in the absence at the time of any provision of the PATRIOT Act.

MtG, You have got to be kidding. The central pre 9/11 failure of lack of interagency communication was corrected by the Patriot Act.

You knew that, didn't you?

It wasn't inter-agency communication that was the problem. It was intra-agency communication that was the problem, which was exacerbated by the message the new administration sent which was that terrorism wasn't considered an important problem. The FBI had all the information necessary to put two and two together, and had they been directed by the Adminstration, which was being warned daily about the severity of the threat, they might have put two and two together. Instead, two and two were kept in seperate rooms, so the FBI never knew they had four.

And, Dems, get off the "net job loss" bit. Bush inherited a recession which was compounded by 9/11 in his first fiscal year, a budget given him by Clinton. As soon as the major Bush tax cuts became effective last summer, the economy took off. Those tax cuts were delayed and opposed in large measure by you know who. Had the Dems had their way, we would still be in a recession.

So drop it, will you?

You are ridiculous. The Afghan National Army is growing in size and is about 30,000. It is taking over more and more. A new high way was built connecting Kabul to Kandahar.

A British House of Commons Foreign Affairs committee report found that about 10,000 members of the ANA had been trained as of 15 June 2004. According to a report published by the International Crisis Group in March 2004, the ANA's establishment was below coalition targets, was not ethnically representative of the population, and suffered from a high rate of desertion. A mid-March 2004 estimate suggested that 3000 soldiers had deserted. In the summer of 2003 the desertion rate was 10%.

Oh, and might I add, all of these deserters pretty much made off with National Army Uniforms and guns.

There is no control outside of the major cities, and only moderate control over those. To even think about refuting that just goes against basic common sense, not to mention reports made by governments and media outlets worldwide.

I question that number of 7,500 and wonder where it is from? From some committee full of democrats? We increased the amount of troops in Afghanistan recently by the way, so we didn't take attention off it. And now look! They have 80% of their voting population registered to vote. Something I thought that wouldn't be possible.

And Kerry has said essentially the same thing about Bush. He has said that Bush is the wrong choice, that he has made the world less safe, that terrorist are stronger now etc...

So it's ok for Kerry to say that sort of thing about Bush but not okay for Cheney to say it about Kerry?
