As for Amy, her Dad may have told her something different in 2000, but he could have been lying then, since he's maintained all along he didn't help Bush. So we're still left with either Barnes was lying then or lying now. Considering he was accussed of blackmailing then governor Bush over the information, it may have been in his best interests not to tell his daughter the truth.

Sorry, Che, the whole point is that Bush didn't serve as a member of the Alabama ANG, only that he was in Alabama and if he needed to fulfill any requirements (flight hours or paperwork) he would have reported to that unit.

Several NG members here state that's the way things were in NG units at the time because of the increasing numbers of vets returning to civilian life and doing NG duty as part of reserve status.

The specific quote on video says when he was Lt Gov. and put the date as 1968 the year Bush entered NG service not when he had influence as a powerful politco, hence falsehood since he did not assume the office of Lt Gov until 1969.
