ya i got 5 of them, so waiting for AoM sounds great right now, mainly because all the mandatory practice

hopefully, SG X will be the first AoM game we all play so...idk...

I am sure that, someday, the CtP2 community will win a succession game... someday.

I will certainly have a look at the thread from time to time and check the progress, but playing the game itself would need too much time and a regularity I can promise today (as you saw earlier this year )...

I dunno, when we've got enough people who've got Ages of Man. I havent even finished a game yet.

I wont have time to set it up this time though (although I should be able to participate), at least not before i finish a scenario im making.

I read fromafar was working on a sourcecode version compatible with AoM. Although its not necessary for the next succession game, it will prevent things like crossed-swords and right-click bugs, although theyre arent much of a cheat anyway. Ill play with or without a new sourcecode build.

Yeah the cost is only for the recovery of postage and packing, plus Stankarp has been trying to get it hosted on Apolyton.

Ive only got 128 upload so if im gonna upload id rather do it via ftp somewhere, since theres a maximum email size of 10MB (i think) in gmail and that means i have to sit over it.

From what I have been reading this game AI is no push over. Not many reviews posted yet but the upside is that the game is a up hill battle all way. No mid game AI wanting to retreat behind its borders . Loves to take cities. Thats ok but some feel that the AI diplomacy vs. human player might be tweaked a bit . Stan says bribing the AI is a must to stay out of war. Also Stan wanted the game to have a Mutiplay feel to it. Im thinking it something like the mod Conquest. What do you think?

Just play Cradle mod to get a feel for it, since thats what its based on.

I can understand him saying its based on MP game Vs a human, this does mean its mostly military, any positive diplomacy you do make will be with weaker nations, or bribing bigger ones not to attack you, which is realistic.

Maybe I should. Will be good practice till AOM comes in.
I know that Cradle has 3.5 Diplomod as its base which I think is better than 3.6. The AI will never give you anything unless your in a postion to deal hard with them. But have made peace treaties but mostly with Ghandi type personalities the rest you have to push them it to it.
