Fable is definitely a quality game, but some things are definitely lacking. I guess I just wasn't expecting such a hack and slash for an rpg, I am fresh off of KOTOR, and still up to my buttocks in Morrowind, and was expecting something slightly similar. The gameplay is entirely different, but still quality.
Stay tuned kids, what will bipolarbear say next about the new upa and comer?
Part 2 of this semi interesting review when we return!
Bored while waiting for part 2? Then hop on over to the sotries and diplomacy section, nad join the SHeep NES to play a fun interactive game full of politicla swindling and tons of bloody war in Early America!
Or, if that's not your slice of chicken pot p ie, then create your own NES, their kind of a drought now, so your guaranteed to get players!

Fable Sells Big
How big? Really big.
September 23, 2004 - Microsoft Game Studios has reason to be proud: Today it announced that Fable, the beautiful and expansive Xbox-only RPG developed under the care of Peter Molyneux, has already broken records in its first week of sales.
Fable sold more than 375,000 units during its initial week of release (which translates into about $18.7 million gross). To offer some perspective, in one week that's about half the number of units Knights of the Old Republic sold in its first six months.
As for record breaking, Fable was had the biggest first-week sales at EB Games of any Xbox title, ever. At Game Rush, it broke first-week records for any game. And, in a delicious statistic, Fable grossed more in its first week than the film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Take that, Jude Law!
Could this be one of the biggest hits in the Xbox's history? That remains to be seen, especially with heavy contenders like Halo 2 still to emerge. But without a doubt, Big Blue Box's unique RPG is doing very well. Very well, indeed. |

actually i did powergame civ 3 as a builder quite a bit. usually it involves insane ics at the beginning so you end up with so many resources and territory that you can play defensively as many people won't attack you. usually my close ai neighbors only managed to build 3-5 cities while i had 20+. i did't play the difficulty levels above monarch(is this the middle one?) much though. powergaming is a style of play not necessarily aggressive play.
