Almost done processing. And let me tell you, this is going to be the leg with most carnage so far in this tournament, I'd say.

I'd like to be able to take part of the credit for that, but I really need to go back and look at the orders I sent in and compare to the results and see if I can figure out whether my actions contributed to higher damage against me or against my opponents.

Good to see the debate over (I hope!) and the game continuing

Though it pains me to admit this, I've just realised that my orders for the fight against Drogue were illegal, and also that I'm fairly sure that they could not have given the above result anyway. Unless I'm going loopy and am wrong or Kassiopeia has a better solution I presume a rematch is in order...

Was the total over 100? One line more than 50?

Yes, the total was over 100. However, I strolled to the murky waters of intent and thought it was a typo. Say, if the number Jybtheway had sent me was 20, but with number 10 the order set would perfectly mesh with a total of 100 and a max of 50 per each line. So I thought it was a typo and went with 10. (The game was behind as it was, and more importantly, this change to the number had no actual effect on the battle in this particular case.)

If either of you want a rematch regardless, I've no qualms with that.

Normally I'd ask for a clarification as I've already done before in this game.

Also, I won't tell you if you're using less than 100 points, since that is giving the one who sent the faulty orders the disadvantage. Double-check your orders.

Put an end to popups!

I thought that one line was over 50, but the total was 100...

In any case, I'm (unsurprisingly) happy with the result as it stands, and I think it's quite likely that what was chosen for my orders is indeed roughly what I would have done had I noticed the problem, but if Drogue wants a rematch then I'm happy to oblige.

ARGH! Missing Jamski's orders. And DOY's too.

Ljube sent me orders for a battle against Spikie, I'm going to jot that down under "Disasterous error of thought", like my killing of Snowflake in Mafia 27.

Surely just because they've agreed a draw, doesn't mean he can't come out all guns blazing and surprise the Doctor? Maybe that was his strategy?

Heavens no. I'm sure it was just a little mishap on his part. And even if it weren't, I would under no circumstances accept it. A draw is a draw.

So if someone proffered a draw, they can't go back on it. I think the ability to be 'done-over' makes it less likely for people to agree draws, which is better for the crowd, more interesting in terms of what happens, and more realistic. Strategically breaking a treaty is used in many games, so rejecting someone's orders if they are correct (ie. under 100 and all lines under 50) would seem to be going a little far. Both gladiators would have to step out, a draw would simply be putting 0 0 0 in all lines, not trying anything. If the other one decides to suddenly surprise and attack, what would be stopping them? There is a rule against attacking your opponent?

I think Ljube managed to play Spikie well, if the orders are intended. I've never seen a GM be able to enforce a private agreement between competitors in that way.

We'll have to discuss that further. Had Ljube put in that he intended to break the draw, I would have thought otherwise. If the players agree with each other that they go with 00 00 00 or agree on numbers that cause no damage to either one, of course I won't interfere with that. But this was more of the kind of draw where the gladiators don't even step out to the arena in the first place, at least that is how I understood it. I also took into account that it's been many days so Ljube may not even remember that he agreed to a draw - also, his orders, looking at them, suggested to me that he was prepared for a battle, not a backstab butchering.
