I'm pretty sure it's not on my side, grandpatroll. I have broadband, and regardless of that it's not on the server - mail.yahoo.com would report it existing, even if Eudora didn't (and eudora downloads saves in a few seconds, even for "Huge AU succession game" which is huge literally). I've never had this problem with anyone else, either - and I play about as many games as you do.
It seems most likely to be on your mail server's side (rr.com) probably not handling large attachments quickly, perhaps specifically with yahoo, to save bandwidth or processor speed. Some mail servers, including Yahoo! and Hotmail, do this as well, but usually for those it's only a few minutes or maybe a half hour, because they're so large that there is less of a "spike" effect. With a smaller mail server, perhaps it's simply more likely, or they have an intentional setup to only distribute large attachments every few hours?

Hmm, sluggy.net worked after all. Surprised, it wasn't working before. Anyhow, it got there first (got there right away i think, both of them). So it's something specific to yahoo, sort of - didn't get through from civilization3.com either ... weird.
I wonder if yahoo keeps a list of servers it doesn't like (spam servers, or similar)? That could explain it, if your mailserver had made it to that list somehow (often by being spoofed by others) ... I didn't think they did, rather relying on spamguard(r) to block it, and if they did I thought it 100% blocked the emails rather than trickling through ...
Anyhow, my gmail.com address is linked to my eudora now, so try sending to that from now on - it hopefully won't have this problem (my nick at gmail)

Reuters - Special from the Al Abarat Daily News Cry
Mecca, 1855
All of Arabia rejoices today as the Faithful have returned to the capital, rejoicing in their great victories!
The final two Hittite cities, Emar and Alaca Huluk, fell to two Elite Ansar Warriors, after fighting bravely. With them, the Hittite government bowed to the inevitable and surrendered their mobile capital-in-exile in Emar, the final city to fall to the Arabs.
Now the speculation of the world moves to the future of the Arab Hordes. Will they return to their farms? Or, will they continue to convert heathens and build the ranks of the followers of Allah?
One thing is for certain, this reporter will be following them carefully, as whatever happens, the fate of the world depends on the actions of these warriors and their leaders - they may turn to good or to evil, but their choices will mold the future of the world for years to come.
