Yes, that could work. I hope Fairline gets back to us about the F-117 and the shirtless rioter, they will be big additions to the units.gif. As for events like the ones you described, I think in such a war there would be assination attempts by all sides.

WOW!! Fairline that looks just great, the F-117 I mean. As for the shirtless rioter, I imagine him being fairly muscular, blue jeans, black belt and either aiming an AK-47 at a target or holding the AK-47 up in the air in a celebretory fashion. Don't worry about his race, we can manipulate that in Photoshop ourselves to suit white, black or hispanic rioters.
Say Patine, would it be possible to change the name of this thread eventually? I think it should bare the name of our title, even though we are yet to agree on a final title.

Wait a minute, Fairline did you say that was a rehash of a ToT F117? Well, as of now Patine and I are hoping this one will in fact be a ToT scenario. Where can we find the unhashed ToT F-117, though I do appreciate the fact you've made it available for MGE scenario makers.

No worries, I've been a little slow with the units mself ever since I was on that three day blitz when I turned out about a dozen units on the units.gif.

With your permission I'm giong to try to recruit either Catfish or Fairline to apply that incredible ToT graphical shading to our tanks and or airplanes.
Just looking at those incredible WW2 units recently posted really stops me dead in my tracks. I haven't taken a look at the rules.txt yet but will do so shortly. I'm affraid the graphic side of this game may be a little longer than the rules and events, though possibly not by much.

By the way Sarsstock, you were wondering about my scenarios. Here's a scen I made a little while ago just as an example of my handiwork. Though this one doesn't use your flags, if you could make me up a flagset for the ones used here, I would greatly like that (all graphics credits are in the Readme.txt). It covers my take on the Vietnam War (you mentioned some interest in a Vietnam scen a while ago, or that you were working on one). It's mainly to illustrate my scenario-design style (and, admittedly, some advertising and show-and-tell as well). Please have a look.
BTW, if you have any completed scens of your own, however old, please post one; I'd like to see it.

Well its a shame we can't discuss this online, I doubt we'll ever get much done without having a realtime conversation. Otherwise we'll just be trading idea's here and there and the scenario will likely bog down in early development.
In any case, I'm still having doubts about Florida's involvment in this scenario. I think there will be enough breakaway nations in this scenario as it is for now, and I'm not sure that Cuba in any future timeline would be able to mount an occupation of South Florida.

Well I won't say it was a bad idea, Civilization II is home to some of the most insane but creative scenario idea's out there. Now, in the last 24 hours I've gotten quite a bit of information from local and national news about the melting of Canada's north and the possible ramifications world wide.
Basically, I think when our scenario takes place in a decade water will have become so scarce that the vast deserts of the American south west may actually exband, swollowing up vast tracks of land.
We are a spoiled people we North Americans, we have never had to worry about mass starvation or mass droubt that effects not just towns but cities, states and provinces. This is afterall what triggers the upheaval that ignites this scenario.
I also caught a documentary on CBC last night about a Canadian military exercise in the Canadian artic, if you can call it the artic still. Basically, the exercise didn't go as well as the army had planned, though many of the problems were due to bad weather. I doubt the Americans could have fared much better in such conditions. Not that this matters much since little if no fighting will take place in the Canadian Artic in our scenario.
Here's an interesting side note.... in 1945, Canadian General Andrew McNaughton made a prediction that if Canada and the United States ever went to war, it would be over water and water rights.

Ultimately, water should be a predominant theme, but politics should, as always, overcomplicate that simplicity. I, too, have heard about arctic troubles and recently read a global environmental report of the top ten 'hotspots' of ecological trouble (two or three were in or near North America). The Florida idea probably shouldn't be nixed entirely in consideration, just relegated to a low priority.
BTW, I've got MSN Messenger working and put your e-mail address as a contact, but you've been offline everytime I've checked since then. I hope I catch you online soon, though. I used the following e-mail address as my .NET passgate, as I used it for Microsoft tech support.

No need to worry friend, I just got back on with Poly here. Anyways, the tasks at hand include getting Fairline to help us with those full colour pallet versions of the units we require, finding an apropriate city style, terrain graphics, icons, sounds, and finding a way to write the events you proposed.
All and all nothing a couple of Canadians like us can't handle.
