with alexander the great not willing to commit his nation to long-lasting peace after repeated offers and persian spies seeing troops amassing in the culture capital of athens, the persian generals felt uneasy, knowing an assault would be imminent as soon as greece would be in posession of the art of creating cavalries.

also seing that persia would then eventually have to fight four civilisations at once, xerxes was persuaded to launch a preemptive strike against greece to minimise persian damage.

we urge the rest of the world not to join forces with the greek armies. should the other nations commit to a neutral stance, persia promises not to occupy former greek territory for more than the length of the war.

whoever joins the fight against the aggressive civilisation will be richly rewarded and can settle any conquered land.

however, history has proven that egyptians are loyal underlings in service of the greek empire...

persian cavalry have managed to liberate a few undefended and weakly defended greek cities in the east and freed corinth out of their evil tyranny.

our leaders are however sad to announce that rome committed an act of war and therefore had to be punished. as exemplary act, the capital was taken.

to the nations other nations:

egypt in specific: we apologise for the choice of words. but dear cleopatra... you do hopefully remember that it was not long ago when you were to feeble to capture some undefended cities of the (in those days) agressive civilisation!

carthage and egypt: we can understand very well if you are not happy with our actions and our success so far. we ask you however to -should you want to join forces with the greeks- you act honourably and declare war now. should there be a military alliance standing, the noble code of war asks for openness.

Your words don't make any sense. Why should Carthage and Egypt be open, while you tear down Rome without any reason nor declaration of war?

Why would it be yours to decide what's right and wrong Persia? Rome hasn't acted against you, yet you decide it has committed an act of war that needed to be punished.

Sabre has a right to request that we tell him if there is a military alliance. In other words, it's not correct to form an alliance and keep it secret.

There is a huge and much-used grey area involving ongoing "discussions" that end in an alliance, but which are not "concluded" yet.

Egypt can say that we are not in an alliance or in the grey area.

My preceding message was nothing personal, that's why I refered to Rome and Persia.

Nonetheless, I think a millitary alliance is only required to be announced when it's really being active in coordinated acts of war. Even planning a whole campaign doesn't worry me. Obviously, Persia has been planning quite a raid as well.
