http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitem...10/s1216569.htm

It looks like a lot of university students won't be able to afford to go to uni with the rise in HECS staying. It looks like our miniscule, inconsequential number of troops in Iraq will be staying put. It looks like refugees will still be treated like terrorists, or dogs. It looks like it's still un-Australian to be un-American. And it looks like Howard got away with his deliberate misleading of the people for another three years (I do admit however that misleading the public is an art to politicians. Though in this, Howard is the Da Vinci of deception).

Nevertheless, I don't see any point in getting worked up about it. It's over. The tribe has spoken, or whatever. It still scares me that people can vote for someone like that, but it's happened, and probably couldn't happen any other way given the state of this country, and the rest of the world and the fact that Mark Latham hasn't lead the Labour Party long enough to earn complete voter confidence.

Well America, you can count on the unwavering support of this country's government in the next country you decide to 'liberate'. :

Wait, I just saw on Yahoo!'s AP article that only 32% of the vote has been counted. How can he be declared a winner already unless they're looking at some misplaced Florida ballots...

The report you read must have been out of date. I just looked at Yahoo and it's reporting Howard's victory.

Well if he takes a fourth after specifically stating he'll stop after his third then I expect that will be as good a time as any. Care to answer my question, or after so long of never actually answering questions have you shed that ability like a pair of vestigial legs?

I don't think PMs are limited on terms...Thatcher was pushing the end of her third when he resigned. If Tony wins the next and lasts the rest of that term (looks very likely he will win the next election with their being no real opposition) he could succeed where Thatcher failed I don't think there is a limit on how many terms a PM can serve.

Here's a little tip: if you don't know the answer to a question, don't attempt to answer it, no matter how witty you might think you're being.

Ned, I don't think I've seen you advance a single argument this week, only a vain attempt to portray anything that isn't fourteen inches up Bush's rectum or likewise his allies, policy or rhetoric to be somehow offensive to you, or internally ridiculous. Ordinarily, that wouldn't be of any concern to me, however, what does worry me is you take yourself so seriously .

Not entirely. But philosophy should be about the search for truth, not an excuse for depravity.

BTW, Whaleboy, you should study law. Judges constantly must make decisions based that are based on judgments of right and wrong. You'd love it.

Why should philosophy obey your rule? It means literally "love of wisdom" which introduces three concepts, love, of (that is, subject to predicate) and wisdom, all of which are open for debate. And depravity? Care to elaborate?
