I'm hoping for a Bears win... they need to stick it to Michael Strahan for saying he's already looking towards next week.

Man... it looked like the Bears were going to get blown out... down 14 points with the Giants on the march, still in the first quarter... but the Defense woke up... turnovers... and we have a tied ball game with the Bears in field goal range with the half coming to an end...

This is a good week for the Packers to have their bye. A few key players have been hurting, and this will rest them up. Hopefully we can continue on the three week winning streak.

After the second Giants touchdown, I turned the game off. I couldn't "bear" to watch anymore.

When I turned it on again in the 4th Quarter, I expected to see the Giants up by 5-6 touchdowns. Wow! What a pleasant surprise to see the Bears ahead!

Go Bears!!!!!

I don't like showboating all that much, but sometimes it's funny and it makes a point.

I'm watching the Cleveland Baltimore game, and it's

... d'oh! A 7 yard punt! Ravens ball on the Browns 8 yard line!

anyway, it's middle of the fourth quarter and the Ravens have the Browns backed up against

... Lewis just scored. 19-13.

their goal line. On 3rd and impossible Jeff Garcia is in the end zone and throws the ball away just as he's tackled for a near-safety.

The man who tackled him offered Garcia his hand, to help him off the field. Jeff, a bit shaken up, doesn't realize it for a split second but then reaches up, grabbing his opponents hand, and pulls himself upright.

Except it doesn't happen. As soon as the hands touched, the Baltimore player removed his hand, high-fiving an approaching teammate. Garcia rolled back onto the field as the expected support never materialized.

Now usually I would be thinking the guy is being a putz for removing his hand, but in this instance I think it was a smart thing to do: The QB is the leader of the opposing team. Anything you can do to shake his confidence (especially given that they are the 2nd most protected position in football) helps your team.

Now it could be counterargued that doing such a thing could inspire a team for having its quarterback so righteously dissed, that, newly inspired, Cleveland will roar back, erase the current 20-13 lead (4:18 left in the 4th), and show Baltimore what the Browns think of such cheap shots as that.

But they won't. Because it's the Cleveland Browns. Because it's Jeff Garcia. Just watch.

Garcia throws 105 yard interception return for a TD!

Actually, it bounced off the receivers hands... it wasn't like he threw straight at the defender. Longest INT return in Ravens history, btw.

He wasn't showing up Garcia, he wasn't even looking at Garcia and decided that Garcia wasn't going to take his hand so he went to celebrate wtih his teammates. He was looking at his teammates while holding out his hand.

He walked away because Garcia didn't put his hand up quickly enough. Not because he was trying to belittle him.

He was showing sportsmanship.....just wasn't paying attention to the person he was showing that sportsmanship to.

Is the Poly Fantasy League falling by the wayside? At least 3, maybe 4 teams had players on bye weeks in their starting lineups this week.

WTF is up with that? Did everyone just stop caring?
Where's the comaraderie? Where's the trash-talking?
C'mon, guys!

This is my first year in this league. Is this how it normally goes???

Yep...

The problem with most fantasy leagues is that some of the people that get off to a bad start just stop making changes and playing. And some people just don't realize that it's more effort than just the draft. While occassionaly somebody who is playing on a regular basis and does actually care, does end up not updating his team for a given week... it's usually more a matter of people just not playing anymore... which really sucks for the those who do care. It's really unfair when it's coming down to the end of the season, and you have to play somebody who is paying attention, while somebody you are fighting with for a playoff spot is playing some jerk who hasn't replaced his injured QB in weeks.

The best you can really do is just play in leagues where you know people. My daughter plays in random Yahoo leagues, and half way through the season, about 1/2 the teams have stopped making any changes....

It's typical for one person to just give up, or not be able to keep things up to date for personal reasons... but when you have a quarter of the league not interested this early in the season... you've got a problem.

The Bills "D" has been there all year long and they finally have a ground attack to show for.

If they can just keep on giving Bledsoe a little time... [Dream mode] they could take a run at the Jets. [/Dream mode]

Bills!
