Interesting fact:

The Celtics won their first championship against St. Louis (1957), the Bruins broke a 29 year Stanley Cup drought against St. Louis (1970), the Patriots won their first Superbowl over St. Louis (2002), AND NOW, the Red Sox broke an 86 year drought over St. Louis .


Boston loves playing those St. Loo teams .

My fiancee was oddly indifferent about the outcome. She kept saying "I should be happy, but I don't really care."

She's never been a hardcore fan, though, so she's probably the exception.

Words can't describe. Boston was insane last night (and rightfully so.)

It hasn't really hit people yet. Its weird...you wouldn't think a sports championship could be so surreal, but then...when you're brought up on the pursuit of that championship...

My grandmother made a good point. She said that no one of her mother's (my great-grandmother's) offspring has seen the Red Sox win a World Series...and she hadn't either. See, she came over to the US from Germany a few months after the Sox had won. So basically, the Red Sox drought has been longer than half of my bloodline has been in this country. THAT is something really awe-some to think about.

Oh, and GePap, I'm done arguing with you. You're an elitist *****, who seems almost like that kid in the 2nd grade who would shout "LOOK AT ME" just to get people to look at him. You really need to get something to let all of that hot air outta your head.

I had a question thought: has anyone ever done a movie about the Red Soxs, or the suffering of their fans, or some flick that shows them winning?

I know that there was "Damned Yankees" in the 40's. The Cubs have "Rookie of the Year:, Cleveland Fans have "Major Leagues", and Angels fans had "Angels in the outfield", but I don't remember any involding Boston. I wonder why?

I called you for what you were. You couldn't get over your elitist attitude. Four others pointed it out, wasn't just me. We all got pissed at you trying to urinate on our parade. And I know plenty about the Yankees. I know all about Mantle and Gerhig and DiMaggio and The House Ruth Built and the Bronx Bombers and all that.

And I stand by my claim that they will be most remembered team in Baseball. Just like the 1980 Hockey Team, Knute Rockney's Fighting Irish, and yes, the Yankees dynasty (not specific team, but dynasty) of the 50s. I give due were due is owed - Which is why the 2004 Red Sox will be the most remembered single team in history. Its just a fact.
