How can I use resurrection spells in the OC? Do I just need to cast it on the general area my henchman died in, and watch him spring back to life? (Well, as near life as having almost no HP can be. )
I'm well through chapter 3, and am just wandering around the giants' caves, before going to explore with my magic shield of Dragonslaying. I had a couple of goes at defeating the Giant Champion at the entrance to the next level of the giant caves, but he always defeats me. I get him to Near Death and just keep hitting him, with some tasty sneak attack arrows firing in from Tomi, but he just won't die. I have no idea how he can manage to stay at near death level for so long, and then turn up with a deadly flurry of whacks to just kill me outright before I can heal.
Help would be handy. The second time around I used Speed, Barkskin and Strength potions, as well as Divine Shield, but I'm not sure what else I can use to finally kill him. Needless to say, once he topped me for the second time in a row, I gave up and went directly to the pub to watch football.
Instead of having your 'Poly Adventure characters ramble on about themselves in the game, maybe you could all post a potted history of your character - to sort of reflect the fact that you were all sat in the boozer chatting when some fool decided that going on an adventure would be a nice change, and so you already know a little about your companions. Just a thought.

Bio will come later (I'll wait until someone else posts theirs). As for basic details... half-elf growing up in a human community, one not particularly noted for its tolerance of non-humans. Especially the children of humans and non-humans. Especially half-elves. Long story short: house burned down by big unruly mob while her parents were inside. Ellowyn took to the back alleys for a while, apprenticed under a rogue. Said mentor then betrayed her. So she ran off again. Some rangers and druids operated out of a nearby forest... you can see where this is headed.
anyway... more times: I will probably be able to play pretty much all of Friday except insanely early AM GMT-5. GMT evening... taking that to be 1700-2300, then that'd be 1200-1700; I can do that easily. Yay for being done with everything.

Shara Weteel
Human Female, Chaotic Good
Some sort of stats I can be bothered to remember.
Bio: (Sorry, this is kind of thrown together at the last minute)
Shara was called to the church during her early teenage years. Having been always been a devote follower of Britsy the goddess of the Sun and other bright shiny happy things, Shara had an almost intuitive understanding of Britsy philosophies and teachings. However, this was not what brought her into the church's fold. For as profound as she may be with church teachings, she really couldn't remember any of the proper terminology; and Britsy help her, if she ever had to explain any of it. Her entrance essay on Britsy's general theory of everything was simply put, "Let your smile be your umbrella. . .but don't use it on a sunny day and block out the light and such. Wait, that isn't right. A smile is an upside down umbrella bringing rain up and sun down. Yeah, that's it." That and her misspelling of rectory in describing the role of the head priest pretty much blocked her entrance to the divinity school.
Yet, Shara didn't give up. Certain that she had an important role to play in the Britsy faith, she decided to do missionary work on her own but wasn't certain how to begin not being an actual member of the church and all. Wandering through the local woods looking for someone to aide in the name of Bitsy, she stumbled across a small clan of kobolds. The kolbolds were intriqued with a human who could say many words they knew (which aren't many for kobolds) yet still not make a lick of sense. Despite her failings in the church, Shara's natural abilities did give her the blessing of Britsy and thus the use of some clerical powers. So with her in their clan, the kobolds soon rose to become a dominant force in the forest. This ended up having dire consequences for the town as the kobolds became more numerous and confident. Soon the kobolds began demanding jobs in the town and complaining about the lack of a proper sewer system for them to live in. Roaming gang of preadolescent kobolds quickly ruled the streets and began harrassing the human citizens with taunts like, "How's the weather up there?" and "Are you going to eat that?" The town council eventually hired a small group of adventurers to relieve them of the kobold menace.
For Shara, who thought she was only helping the kobolds achieve a better and brighter life, they decided that she could do less harm properly instructed in Britsy's teachings. And so she eventually became of full cleric much to the relief of her instructors, who were tired of having to constantly reexplain the fable of the Octopus with many tentacles. Shara took well to her new position and always volunteered for any task related to the church. While these usually ended in disaster, the high priest soothed themselves with the knowledge that it could be worse. It wasn't until her unfortunate demonstration of the incandescent hairball at the local distillery that the priests found they could not be so easily soothed. So they decided to send her on a mission, "yes, a mission of great importance to. . .the desert, yes. . .so much sunlight yet so much ignorance and so far away, so very far away, ah. Oh, um. Yes, go there and make it brighter. Er. . .you may have to travel deep within it. Very deep." Thus, Shara headed off in high spirits to the land of the sun, where she planned to make it "sunnier. . .er."
I'm still not sure when this is starting. Is that 1200-1700GMT or 1700-2300GMT?
