Noticed a bug involving the second Codex quest.

spoiler(highlight to read): When you get the second "Memory of the Scattered Codex" item, which has the Thesis of Acumen and Pamphlet of Persuasion, the Scattered Codex quest info in the journal resets. Probably harmless... except for the fact that one could theoretically now re-do the first Codex quest, and get another copy of the first Memory of the Scattered Codex-- and with it, an extra +1 Intelligence. Dunno if that would stack with the existing Intelligence bonus, though.

what are the good modules out for this?

we would have 2-5 people

spoiler(highlight to read): This is kinda deliberate. As each page of the codex is collected the "Memory" item will expand to contain each page. This means the script that checks if the PC has already done that quest needs to check also if the PC has the next page, and the one after that etc... Being a bit lazy, this script probably won't be updated untill all 6 pages of the codex are fully implementated, so untill then it will be possible to redo the Thesis quest. Warning - doing so will give you another couple of undroppable objects in your pack that won't do anything (dirty capture jar and a duplicate Memory) The effects will not stack though. The codex works as an OnEnter script in every area that applies +1 INT if the PC possesses the Memory. Its a "yes/no function", not a "how many function".

But thanks for reminding me to do something about getting rid of the "dirty capture jar"

So I guess we are never going to play that module we were talking about playing a couple of weeks ago. After reading about it, I feel the need to play it. They say it's very difficult to play single player, but I will attempt it. I'll probably take a fighter/rogue through it so I can disable traps.

I'm on the final chapter of the OC if anyone still gives a monkey's. Not that I've played any of it yet, but I may well do tonight. I hope to finish it before school starts again, and then get going with SoU on Sunday mornings.

Wow. I am in awe of your dogged determination to hammer through the OC.

SoU is MUCh better, you will be in dreamland after playing the OC through.

Especially if what I have heard about all the tasty Paladin loot is true..... I may well keep the same character and politely request you to recommend me some more levels to take Minty to.
I've got some nice stuff as it is though: fire giant belt for +5 strength, red dragon armour and the tasty sword that came from the same place too.
I've heard that the character who betrays you (is that elliptical enough not to be a spoiler for anyone who hasn't played yet? ) also has a wonderful sword, but I'm not prepared to change my alignment just so I can powergame it.

the original OC isn't too bad. I enjoyed a few of the quests. The trial was interesting. And the doomed town. For the time, it wasn't bad (though not as good as BG2 quests of course).

But there's much better stuff out there now.

Shadowlords, Dreamcatcher and Demon are about 9 modules that are fun to play.

They are short mods but they build on each other quite nicely.

I recommend them.

Well I did export Minty into SoU and realised quite soon after that that I should be level 1.



I still haven't done the OC - I'm up to the bit just before the end and next have to fight 2 bronze dragons. I had a quick go when I was just messing about and exploring, and they toasted me by using a paralysis spell and then several heavy hits.
How can I avoid paralysis?

Erm... get any item that gives you "Freedom" - there's plenty around, cast the spell of the same name, or make your Will Saves

I took potions to boost all my stats - just because I have hatloads of all of them - in the hope of making some saves here and there.
It obviously didn't work though.

I could always pick up that cloak of freedom though - It's not as though I still need all the cash.
I was sure that there was a mega-smith in the final Chapter but I haven't found him/her. Any advice?

Oh yeah, and I've got the amulet from the failure I met outside. Who needs +2 against lizards when I've got a +3AC against everyone amulet already?
Plus, Spike gets by fine with +1 on everything.

Well that's the OC done with, and SoU begun. Yay!

I'm playing as a rogue. I wish you could have the paladin as a henchman though. But heck, I'm going to have to put up with the wizard instead. Wish me luck y'all.
