112 ms should not be noticeable playing NWN, unless it's spiking higher, or the server is busy. I got lag sometimes, so it could be that.

Still, 112 ms is bad if it's constantly around that mark.

And it probably isn't the problem but I told you not to buy a USB modem.

Tell it to my dad The USB modem takes about 4 minutes to make a connection to the net.

I need some more sites to ping to confirm that it is not only Folderol that gives me long pings.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Ping something close to your ISP, like their website. Pings to Folderol will be higher than 30ms probably even with a perfect connection.

Argh, three hour download! I'll have to force myself to play Pirates! in the meantime , or find a faster source. Strangely enough, all the other mirrors have the filesize at ~120 MB, the NWNVault file I'm gettin g is 150.

Also, many CEP discussions I've dug up would lead me to believe that the CEP is awfully bug-ridden and may force me to go through the looooong installation process all over again

I looked at those mirrors, yes, but they link to files that are smaller in size - are these some sort of zip files (as opposed to the .exe I'm getting now), perhaps?

Edit - they appear to be version 1.00 according to the filenames.

No, I'm using version 1.00 without any problems. Folderol didn't switch to version 1.50 because it BREAKS THE LATEST NWN PATCH !

Ping is now about 150 to Folderol though. Argh.
