That's insane!
I've been voting for over 30 years, and one thing is consisently clear over that time -- Power corrupts!
My mantra -- "If they're IN, vote them OUT!"
Over the past decade, I have refused to vote for any incumbent. I've seen too many good men fall while in office. They become slaves to special interests, spend all their efforts trying for re-election, and/or become slaves to polls in their legislative voting.
If I had the time, opportunity, and energy, I'd try to turn this into a real political movement. |
Strike that. For US House, I did vote for the Democratic challenger. All the other incumbents were Democrat.
Things are run pretty well in Lansing, IMO. My water's clean and flows regularly, so the Drain Commissioner is obviously doing his job.

<--- proud Kerry Hater For Kerry. |
Given Kerry's record, there is every reason to think he'd be a much better executive than he ever was a Senator.
He's been at the forefront of a lot of investigations into improper and outright illegal activities, for one.
As such I think Kerry might be quite good for the country. Probably not one of the best presidents, but I think he is likely to be a good one.
