I don't know if anyone has mentioned this heretofore, but there were people running arround with French and Canadian flags in the mob as they carried Arafat's casket to its tomb. What does this mean? |
Ehrrmm...that France and Canada are more popular among the palestinians then say, USA?

Clearly, supporters of Arafat also love Canadians and the French, and vis-a-versa. Why, even as Arafat rejected the Clinton peace proposal in 2000 and began instead the second Intafada, France declared once again its admiration of Arafat, man of peace.
I understand that France is going to erect a monument to the eternal glory of Arafat. It will depict Arafat triumphant, holding an AK-47 high in the air, iron boot emplaced on the neck of a fallen Jewish child, standing before a map of Palestine as it was before the creation of Israel.
