What do you suppose is the better way to deal with the rampant fundamentalism in the world? Should we create new institutions, or reform existing ones from within?

my feelings aren't necessarily bigotry...

I'm tolerant of religion. My mother is an Orthodox Christian, and my dad's side of the family is Lutheran.

My disdain of Islam is no more or less strong than my disdain of Christianity.

Personally, I think religion is dangerous and stupid. It is the belief in superstition and myth. But I don't treat religious people differently than I do atheists. Atheists can be just as stupid as religious people.

God's probably too busy banging chicks to care, I mean what else would you do with omnipotence?

I just think these fundies are badly misguided, and it surely is indicative of something pretty problematic if there are so many naive, ignorant people out there.... in many cases that will manifest itself in literal and furvent interpretations of stuff like the Bible, especially considering that it is some peoples diluded ladder out of a nihilistic black hole, particularly where life is bleak. The solution has to be a strong, critical, secular and rational education .
