After having decided to settle into 1 location instead of continually being tossed on the tides of life, there were many days of arguing and bickering to be had before the Mighty Carthaginians selected a leader.
General James Worm, will bring them glory and prosperity in this new age of growth.
A nice plot of land, with a great coastal view has been selected to birth our new glorious home.

Babylon - our history
Part I, Chapter I
(Anonymous)
We were always very educated and peaceful people (not that any of us knew those words at that time long ago ). More of the nice and slow kind, that prefers staying in one place, if only possible. Perhaps it was always in our minds. Or perhaps it was the fertile, yet cold lands of our ancestors, that made us so. We lived here for a long time, in our valley near the coast. Behind hills that give protection from harsh winds coming from the south, a village and then a town has grown, providing a good warm place during cold winter months. It was called Babylon. Our home.
It is now believed that the settled tribe chose a Council of Elders with a single person to do the Councils bidding. Though called a "despot", this person was more a leader to the people, very close to those he directed.
After the horrific Long Cold Night, when many died of hunger after a terribly long winter, the Council decided that it was time to provide us with better means of storing food. Wise men started making plans...

with all things of old antiquity, details of what exactly happened eludes even the wisest of druids.
It very well known though, that the centuries of wandering done by their fathers, and the fathers of their fathers was still deeply instilled in every man, that it was almost by instinct that the Celts traveled the nearby lands, looking to the horizon for someplace new.
Women on the other hand, had to constantly remind the men that it would be better if they spent their time tilling the soil, than dreaming of a new home.
All things worked out for the best of course. You see, the constant traveling created dirt paths that would eventually turn into roads, which the men readily used to return home in full haste.

After the first major downpour from the nearby jungle, the people decided that stronger huts were needed to help keep them dry in this new home the had chosen. After many failed ideas of how to create a stronger living area, one of the tribesmen found that after digging through the fertile soil there was a nice layer of rock and clay. When mixed with mud this new substance hardened into a much more sturdy wall than had been known of before.
Imediately the local workforce was dispatched to start bringing in this productive substance from nearby land.

Babylon - our history
Part I, Chapter II
(Anonymous)
And so our peaceful town grew and men were sent forth to bring back stone, so we could make tools and build shelters.
As a people of little movement, we didn't know much of the land that surrounded us. Because of this, we decided to send our men to scout the famed riches nearby. But first, we would have to prepare weapons for them, so that they could defend against any danger they might face.
